"Sachiko wait up!"
Sachiko turned, giggling impishly as she watched Raiden bound towards her. For the two kits they had found Darren's party to be rather boring. After a brief talk they decided that exploring the woods would be much more fun. "Cmon Raiden get the lead out."
Raiden skidded to a stop, bending over as he tried to catch his breath. He had been the one that had suggested this excursion, he just wasn't expecting Sachiko to sprint off like she had. "What the heck Sachiko," he grumbled. "When I said let's explore the woods I didn't think you would take off like that. We didn't even tell anyone where we were going."
"Dont tell me you need to ask permission," Sachiko smiled impishly.
"No," Raiden stammered. "But we probably should have said something to Rexie or Misaki. You know how much they worry lately."
"It'll be fine," Sachiko grinned. Raiden gave the white kit a dubious look. If his parents found out he had run off without telling anyone he worried what the consequences would be. "Dont tell me you're worried about what your mom and dad will say," Sachiko said.
"You know how scary they can be," Raiden stated. "Do you want to make them mad?" Sachiko shuddered, her parents may be strict sometimes but they were nowhere near as scary as Raidens. "If we get in trouble I'll take the blame," she smiled.
Raiden grinned, the two kits now running and laughing as they began to play. The two kitsune always loved playing in the woods. Running and leaping from tree to tree, they knew these woods like the back of their hand. Still, there were always new places to explore. Reaching a small creek the two kits now gazed into the water.
"So did your parents say why they were worried," Raiden asked.
"No," Sachiko replied. "But I've never seen my dad act like this. It must be bad whatever it is." Raiden simply nodded, the black and red kit simply watching the water flow through over a set of rocks. The sound of footsteps now drew the kitsunea attention. Nervously the two now scanned the area, Raiden gasping in surprise as he saw someone emerge from behind a tree.
"Mom?"
Abolith, furrowed her brow as she stared at her son. "What are you doing out here?"
"I'm sorry," he replied meekly. "I was just exploring." Abolith said nothing, continuing to stare at the black and red kit. "Come here now boy."
Raiden sighed, the kits shoulders slumping as he now began tobwalk towards his mother. It struck the boy as odd that his mom had come looking for him not his dad. Still, he didn't want to make her any angrier. As he now approached he could see an odd smile now spread across her face.
Raiden and Sachiko now shrieked in fright as a pair of fireballs now knocked Abolith backwards. Shocked to see his mother attacked, Raiden spun, the kit growling as he looked for her attacker. "Misaki," he growled. "Why did you attack my mom!?"
Misaki now hastily began to prepare another spell as her Soul Drive Ren stood by her side. When the kids had gone missing, she knew she needed to find them. She just wasn't expecting to run into a something as dangerous as what she just saw.
"Thats not your mom Raiden," she exclaimed. "Trust me! You need to get away from it NOW!"
Raiden was visibly confused, his head swiveling between Misaki and his mom. Slowly his mother now stood, the dark elf chuckling as she gazed at Misaki. "Interesting," she said. "Tell me girl, how did you figure it out?"
"I could sense your illusion magic," Misaki replied as she readied another fireball. "And Ren here ran a biometric scan. I don't know what you are but your not Raidens mom. Now who are you?"
Abolith chuckled, a murderous glint in her eyes. "Clever girl," she grinned. "Well, might as well end the charade."
Misaki and the others now watched as Abolith began to transform. Nine fox tails now sprung from behind the dark elf, brown fur quickly covering her body as her face twisted becoming vulpine in appearance. In only seconds Misaki and the others beheld an anthro fox woman.
"Your a kitsune," Sachiko asked in surprise.
"No child a kumiho," Choon He said. "A cousin to the kitsune."
"I've heard of you kind," Misaki exclaimed. "My granny Aiko said you were monsters."
"Guilty," Choon He smiled. "I am a monster. A monster tasked with destroying these filthy kitsune brats." Choon He paused, sniffing the air as her eyes glint red with rage. "And it appears I get to murder three brats instead of one," she said, pointing at Misaki. "You have kitsune blood girl I can smell it. I wonder what your heart will taste like."
Raiden and Sachiko now sprinted to Misaki, anxiously watching the nine tailed kumiho as she studied the group like an apex predator. "Oh kiddies," she grinned. "This is going to be fun."
