Mrs. Markus waited for Dr. Haun to inject her with the Dartmoor serum.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Mrs. Markus," said Dr. Haun.
"Fuck you, I want to see my husband." she replied.
Dr. Haun gave her a look.
"You don't understand, Dr. Haun, it's been almost a month since my husband became a horse and I miss him terribly, I need to be near him!"
"Well, Mrs. Markus, it may take some time to adjust to this new life. You'll have to learn to adapt and live as a mare. It's a lot different than being a human being, it takes time and patience. Also, it's very important to have a good relationship with your stallion."
"My stallion?"
"Yes, your stallion, Daniel. He'll be very pleased to have you here."
"But...but... I was told I was going to be with my husband."
"It's okay, Mrs. Markus, just relax. This will be over soon. We're almost done."
"No, no, no! I want to be with Justin!"
As Mrs. Markus argued with Dr. Haun, she was injected with the Dartmoor Serum. The needle penetrated her skin and into her veins, releasing the serum. As she fell unconscious, Mrs. Markus felt a warm sensation spreading through her body. It felt like she was being hugged by a thousand hands. Mrs. Markus awoke strapped to a bed by Dr. Haun. She looked around and saw the Professor standing in front of her with a smile on his face while reading some files.
"So, Mrs. Markus, can we lose the formalities and use your first name, "Barb"?" asked Dr. Haun.
"Fine, but I want to be with Justin!"
"We've tried everything, Barb. Your husband is gone forever. He's dead, he's gone."
"That's bullshit! My husband is alive!"
"Your husband is gone, Barb, he's dead. He died in a horrible accident."
"Bullshit! I want to be with Justin!"
"There are other stallions here that would love to have you as their mare. They'll treat you with respect and dignity.
"They will never treat me with anything but disrespect and disdain. Those horses will never love me like a woman should be loved."
"Barb, I'm so sorry for your loss. But you must realize, it's time for you to accept the truth and move on."
"Move on? I will NEVER move on! I will never forget the man I married and the life we shared together!"
"I'm sorry, Barb, but it's for the best. Please try and get some sleep. It's been a long day for both of us and tomorrow will be a big adjustment for all of us."
