Ted was irritated by Amy's weird behavior. Why was she prying in to his personal business while playing on her phone? While she was busy with the paperwork, he slipped her phone off the counter and looked at it. Some odd app was up asking to pick a target.
Curious, he selected Amy and a sentence popped up: The mother is complementing Amy's face makeup. Sure enough he could hear the woman saying how well the make up makes Amy look older. Though that compliment does seem to cause Amy to look uncomfortable. She was always complaining she looked too young and had to make a big effort to look her age. Seeing the app was asking for him to change a word, Ted thought about what would make the scenario funnier.
*The mother is complimenting Amy's face freckles.*
Ted was shocked when Amy's extensive make up suddenly vanished and was replaced with a large collection of freckles running from cheek to cheek. He couldn’t help but snicker though, as the mother gushed about how adorable Amy's freckles made her. She had always said she was glad she didn't have any because they would make her look younger. And she was right coupled with the lack of makeup she did look a lot younger. This was hilarious. He had to try something else.
Meanwhile Amy was dying of embarrassment. It was bad enough she was cursed with the stupid freckles, she didn't need this woman gushing over her like she was a baby. If her dad wouldn't insist she had no reason to wear makeup at her age she might be able to do something about her face, but she had no such luck.
She nervously ran a hand through her professionally styled and straightened hair...and of course her fingers got caught in the stupid curls. She wished she could convince her mom to stop doing her hair, but she wouldn't hear that a teenage girl doesn't want the same uncontrolled mass of curls that made her the cutest kindergartener in her class.
The woman asking Amy about her outfit gave her a welcome distraction. After all at least her clothes come from an actual teen store and she...hated this stupid outfit. Of course her parents insisted that as long as she fit in the children's section clothes there was no reason to waste money. So she could tell the woman that she could buy the polka dot leggings in her daughter's size and the ice cream themed shirt and skirt came bundled together with the plastic necklace.
