Seeing no other option, you take the leader of this rag-tag group as you search for the tree they need. You see five patrols of five demons ahead and it looks like these are prepared for hostile groups. Ren gets an idea and brings you in close.
“Why don’t I run a decoy while you go grab the leaves? I got a few fireworks in my bag and I think I can handle at least one group by myself.” Seeing him beat up earlier, you quickly switch your positions, figuring that if he would be there if you needed out of a jam. He pouts, but agrees with you, handing you a few of the fireworks in his bag. You run out first and throw a few fireworks at the patrol groups, getting them as far away from their post as possible while Ren sneaks away. You are surprised at how prepared they are for any threats, because as soon as you start using your skills, a few spikes get thrown towards you. You block them, but they land on the ground and you skills immediately vanish. Those spikes turned into an anti-magic field, effectively blocking a lot of your skills you’ve learned from scrolls. You are forced to rely on martial arts as you try and use some crowd control techniques as you are actually holding them off pretty well. Not without difficulty as you see your health dropping with every missed dodge. You start to fatigue as the patrols are down to just a few, you wonder what is taking Ren so long. You use the spike of the anti-magic barrier as a weapon to defend yourself as your sword had shattered from a good block that was a little too close to the ground. As you feel like you’re about to get a game over, you see the remaining demons get slammed by a massive tail of a dinosaur, immediately knocking them out and picking you up before running back to where the others were. It dropped you off and turned into a cloud of smoke, turning back into Ren, who scratched his head with his tongue out doing a cute face. “Did I do good?” He gave all the tanuki a bag full of leaves as he offers you some sake from his gourd to celebrate.
