"Twenty-six years you have walked the Earth, now this number is but twenty-one. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost."
"Twenty-five years you have walked the Earth, now this number is but twenty-four. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost."
Both Kaitlin and Laura share a look of surprise as motes of light surround them and they get a bit younger. Laura is now nearly out of college while Kaitlin is a bit younger.
"The Dice." They turned and quickly went out the door. They had to get back to the office quickly.
But they were far too late.
For the brief moment, Anna heard something behind her. The Janitor turned to see the Dice glow a bit brighter and then dim.
The asian woman slowly reached out and picked up the dice.
"Anna Chen, the spirit of youth has bonded with you. Each roll of the dice shall return more of what you have lost." Startled she dropped the dice and heard. "Sixty-three years you have walked the Earth, now this number is but fifty-nine. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost."
"Twenty-one years you have walked the Earth, now this number is but twenty. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost." Laura groaned as another year as lost as she buckled into the car. They had to get back to the office now.
They might be too late.
Anna looked at her hands, which were less wrinkled and saw a reflection of her face. It was hard to see but she did look a bit younger. A bit of her grey hair seemed to be more black now. She looked down at the dice and knew they had something to do with what happened.
She picked up the dice but wondered which one was hers and which one was not working for her.
