You seemed to be in a hotel room, at least at first interpretation. This was the first time you felt you were looking at any true distance and taking in various colors. It was amazing how much you could see with almost 360 vision, but how far you could see was pretty poor. You saw the wooden leg of a bed closest to you, but you could barely make out the shape of what you thought was another leg a few feet away. You also couldn't "focus" on anything in particular. Even with the "Beginner's Adjustment" mental help with being a house fly so far, it felt weird not being able to actively "look" at something and somehow taking everything around you. The colors were also off, and you're guessing that some odd placement of black, greys, and whites were the color "red" that you couldn't see for some reason.
Overall you had much wider field of view that you could understand, but overall your vision, especially with distance and some colors, was pretty shitty. You also had some better interpretation of lighting and shadows that was harder to understand, but from your fun in the walls, you felt pretty comfortable doing things in the darkness.
Following your lead, Samantha followed you skittering up the wall instead of immediately flying around. You told her with a single thought of "Sneak", you hope she got the idea that drawing attention to yourself if people were in the area might be a bad idea.
The better vantage point and skittering over to a window showing the outside confirmed you were in a hotel room. If trying to look across the hotel room was a major issue, looking outside for any sort of detail was just an ocean of blurriness, but you did at least seem to be able to guess elevation and the shapes of vehicles on a street. Deciding the coast was clear, you and Samantha decided to actually fly around to have further fun and testing of your new house fly bodies.
If flying and skittering around the interior walls was fun, exploring the hotel room was a riot. Feeling the various surfaces under your limbs, learning your vision and movements, and even some of the chocolate chip cookies that were left on a counter. Your house fly bodies were definitely spoiled having fresh beef and a dessert as your first meals. You found that you could also read the letters and print on various material, but you pretty much had to be on top of it to make any headway with reading.
After what seemed like a few hours, confirmed by looking at a digital clock of course, you two actually felt tired and decided to rest on the pillows of the hotel bed. Resting was very weird, but in the end you did feel like you were going into a comfortable, dreaming state, despite your senses kind of still being alert, including vision. At least you felt completely comfortable in a standing position at well.
