-6 Years later-
The Wizard was slowly walking down the hallway of his mansion, while looking out the windows on his right side and reminiscing.
He had become one of the most influential people in the Kingdom within the last few years.
It had started with the gems, filled with parts of the soul of a cow, and slowly moved on to larger and larger projects, due to the abundance of energy that the gems provided, combined with the obscene amounts of wealth he aquired from selling them, which in turn lead to him accumulating even more wealth and influence. Thinking of the cow reminded him how lucky he was.
Finding a human with such a potent soul was already almost impossible. And it was completely unheard of for a cow to have such a soul.
The Wizard's eyes fell on the small barn on the other side of his garden, where he kept the animal.
He had stopped siphoning parts off of her soul, once it had become the same size as that of a normal cow.
He could have continued draining her until she had nothing left, but he felt grateful to her for his success and decided to keep her as a pet.
'It is a good thing that i stopped when i did, who knows what may have happened if her soul was no longer sufficient for her body...'
A soul larger than the vessel needed was very unusual, leading to soul splitting and similar practices being outlawed.
'Well, that law only applies to people.' Splitting pieces off of a soul, when it was an exact match for it's body could lead to many problems,
both physical and mental, which could range from memories being taken along with the pieces, to the paralyzation of body parts.
'Such a large soul would have been exceptionally advantagous for a mage.'
He let out a quiet sigh. 'Too bad she wasn't born with the intelligence needed to use magic.'
The Wizard turned away from the windows and opened a door to his left that lead to his laboratory.
Beth looked around, dizzy and confused.
The last thing she remembered was going for a walk, everything after that felt like a long fever dream.
She looked around, trying to figure out where she was, but felt like everything was covered in a thick haze.
Beth shook her head and tried to clear her mind, but it felt like she was waking up from a coma.
