Ben hung out in Jamie's giant purse for a while as she drove around town. He had no idea where she was going, and he wasn't about to ask, so he started walking around her purse. Unfortunately, there wasn't too much in there that was all too interesting: basic hygiene products like chapstick and tissues, and a lot of makeup products like lipstick and, well, things with brushes that Ben didn't understand. He did think he'd enjoy poking around her wallet while he waited, but there was a snap keeping it shut, and try as he might, there was nothing he could do to make it snap open. So after a while he sat down and just enjoyed the ride.
Shortly thereafter, the car stopped. Ben thought about poking his head out to see if Jamie was going to get out of the car, but right as he was about to make a decision, he felt himself being suddenly and quickly lifted up into the air. Guess he was going with her. Ben couldn't believe it: he was traveling around as a tiny man, sneaking around inside his ex-girlfriend's purse as she went about her day. He climbed up and decided to take just a small look around since he was at Jamie's side as the giantess was presumably looking forward and not at him. As he did, he saw that Jamie was walking across a parking lot. In front of them was Cafe Centro, a popular brunch spot downtown. As she approached the door, Ben noticed a giant Erica Simmons, a friend of Jamie's who he knew from school. Now that he might be seen, he ducked back down into the purse.
As Jamie entered the restaurant, Ben could hear other voices too, some he recognized and some he couldn't quite place. Sounds like Jamie was getting brunch with her friends. He listened as they were led to a table. He couldn't believe how easy it was to spy on them. This was so cool.
He could listen to the conversation too after they sat down at the table and Jamie put her purse back down on the floor. "So, I guess since you're here, things didn't go that well."
"I didn't even get that far," Ben heard Jamie say. "His mom answered the front door and wouldn't even let me in. I didn't see him at all."
"Do you think that was her decision, or his?" asked someone else.
"I don't know, honestly," Jamie replied. "I don't think she likes me very much these days. I probably should have apologized to her too. I didn't know what to say."
"Well, you'll see him on Monday, and hopefully he'll talk to you then," said a voice Ben recognized as Erica's.
"Actually, that's what his mom said," said Jamie. "I was just hoping we'd get a chance to talk in private. I don't want everyone watching when we talk about this."
It was amazing hearing these girls, giants now, all talking about Ben, without any idea he was there in the purse on the floor. He figured he was in a safe spot now, and he climbed back out of the purse. He stood on top and looked around. All he could see was a bunch of giant female legs, but it was still pretty cool. One of the girls was wearing a skirt and he could see all the way to her panties, and he had no idea which giant that even was. If he looked almost straight up, he could see Jamie's huge face as she talked. She could probably see him too if she looked down at her purse, but Ben didn't expect her to do that anytime soon.
He slid down off the purse. He couldn't believe it: he could walk around, in public, as a free man, as an inch tall. It was an exciting prospect, though he did want to hear if the girls would talk more about him.
