While you float in the simulated void, you continue to watch Brenda's surprisingly detailed transformation. Her whole form compacts until she's about the size of a dog, while her hands similarly morph into hooves. She almost starts to look cartoonish, especially when you look at what's going on with her face.
Her nose and mouth push outward together into a round, cute muzzle, while her eyes grow to anime-level proportions, her irises once a dull green, now a vibrant emerald. The cyan fur has nearly covered her whole body at this point, but that's not the only hair growing. Just above her flanks, a long light-yellow tail grew, matching her mane. Her mane didn't look all that different from her normal hairstyle, still having a pony tail, but it was more vibrant.
Just when you assumed it was over, she put her hooves to her head almost in pain. "Brenda?"
She put a hoof up, hushing you, as a cyan horn grew out from her forehead, lighting up with some emerald colored magic for a moment. She panted, and shook her head before turning to you. "I'm good. Heh, that almost felt real."
"Yeah..." you say, that word resounding in your mind. This isn't some simple bargain deal VR Game. Brenda felt physical pain, and that's not even mentioning the graphic fidelity and customization of all of this. What kind of budget does this arcade have? The measly amount you paid for it doesn't seem nearly equivalent for this experience...
Maybe you're just paranoid...but something about this feels off to you.
"Hey, Lucas! Hellooo?" you hear Brenda's voice call out. Glancing around, you don't see her until you look down at the cyan unicorn. "Finally! Jeez, you just blanked out on me there. You alright?"
"Uh...yeah. Sorry. Just thinking," you said before going silent again.
Brenda coughed. "Gotta create your character, Lucas. Gonna do it or you want me to?"
"Right..." you say, and then look at the floating text box.
