Jeff grins, he takes out his phone and opens the app, he then open the file of the 16-year-old boy, he holds his phone in a way so that William is able to see. “Now, this is the profile of the 16-year-old who has a huge desire to want to have a snake tail,” Jeff says.
William’s eyes widen, “w-woah… it knows everything about a person,” he says, “even their darkest secrets”.
Jeff nods, “so, you know what damage it could do in the wrong hands, right,” he asks.
“Ye-yeah…,” William says, “maaaan, I have forgotten how high my voice was when I was a kid. But…,” he says, looking up at Jeff, smiling, “… it is great to have the body of a 10-year-old… so, thanks for granting my wish”.
Jeff smiles back, “my pleasure, Will,” he says, “now, watch the boy,” he says and points to a 16-year-old with short blond hair and freckles.
William watches as Jeff types into his phone, “what are you doing,” he asks.
“I am changing his profile so that he grows a tail,” Jeff explains, “next, I’ll alter the reality so that everyone except me and you know the truth, everyone else will assume that he always had a tail”. After Jeff had edited the boy’s file, he looks down at William, “ready,” he asks, William nods and Jeff presses the confirm button, both then turn to look at the teen.
“Will… will it hurt,” William asks.
“No, I programmed the transformation to be painless,” Jeff says, “he’ll simply notice a tugging sensation on his tailbone”.
William opens his mouth to respond when they both hear the teen start to groan in discomfort, “I guess his tail is starting to grow and it is pressing against the inside of his jeans,” he says. Sure enough there is a ripping noise and both Jeff and William watch as a long tail with green scales bursts out of the back of the boy’s jeans.
“Wh-What the hell,” the boy gasps as he turns around to see the tail growing behind him, “I… I am growing a snake’s tail”.
William is surprised that the boy is not freaking out as he did, “man, he sure is taking it more relaxed than I did,” he says.
Jeff grins, “he sure does,” he says.
Jeff and William continue to watch the boy’s tail continue to grow, “man, his tail is getting pretty long,” William says, “it looks so thick and strong. I also like the green scales”.
Jeff nods, “yep, his tail sure is cool looking”.
After ten minutes, the 16-year-old’s tail stops growing, the boy takes his new body part in a shaky hand and stares at it in disbelief. “I can’t… I can’t believe I have grown a snake’s tail,” he mumbles to himself.
Jeff and William watch as the tail wraps around the boy’s arm and both smile as they see the teen starts to smile.
“He looks so happy,” William says, Jeff simply nods and smiles.
After a minute, Jeff turns to William, “come on,” he says, “my job here is done,” he starts to walk away.
“Wait,” William says, hurrying after Jeff, “wh-what will happen to me,” he asks.
“What do you mean,” Jeff asks.
“Um… well, I have no home and I can’t return to my own family,” William says, “th-they’ll never recognize me and my wife will certainly call the cops and file a missing person report”.
Jeff grins, “don’t worry you cute little head about that,” he says, ruffling William’s hair, causing the 10-year-old to blush.
“Bu-but…,” William starts, but Jeff cuts him off.
“Your family don’t remember you,” he says, “I set the reality so that your wife is now a single mum. Your kid’s believe that they have been told that you were a one-night-stand and that you had disappeared the next morning,” he continues to explain. “Don’t worry, your wife… ex-wife… does not hold a grudge against you for just leaving,” he then says.
William relaxes a little, “at least she does not hate me and my boys also don’t hate me”.
Jeff nods, “the only thing in this reality will be that they hope to one day meet their dad”.
William looks up at Jeff, “I… I’d like to see them one last time before I start my new life”.
“Well, after the zoo we could go to your former home before we head home,” Jeff says.
“That would be… wait,” William says, “what do you mean with “before WE head home”? You… you don’t mean I…,” he stops.
Jeff grins, “yup, I now have two younger brothers,” he says, “you are now known as William Davis”.
William can’t believe what he is hearing, he runs up to Jeff and hugs him, “th-thank you, Jeff,” he says, “I never had a brother, I was a single child”.
Jeff hugs his new little brother back, “well, you now have me, a older sister and a younger brother”.
William beams, “I can’t wait to meet my new family”.
Jeff and William start to head towards the exit of the reptile house, when they suddenly feel something wrap around them, “just a minute you two,” they hear a voice behind them. Jeff and Will find themselves being lifted off of the ground and as they look down they see a huge green tail wrapped around their waists. As they look up, they find themselves face to face with the 16-year-old who has his arms crossed, “I have some questions,” the boy says, grinning.
