"Shaddap, you pretentious nag! What're you doing in this neck of the woods anyway?" a high-pitched voice scolds, and suddenly you are beset on all sides by similar squeaky sentiments.
What was wrong with this world? Weren't unicorns supposed to be noble steeds? And fairies, shouldn't they be mischievous yet adorable creatures? How come all the creatures here acted like they belonged in a biker gang?
"Stop buzzing like mosquitoes!" the unicorn retorted, shaking its mane and tail, causing the complaining fairies to retreat a bit. "Didn't you say you needed someone bigger to move something? I brought you someone to help!"
At that, the fairies all turn their beady little eyes to you, grimacing skeptically. You feel your own tail swish back and forth in discomfort, but before you can ask the unicorn what the hell is going on, he continues.
"But you see, she is a bit lost, so in return you have to help her figure out where she's supposed to go, okay?" the unicorn adds like an afterthought, then nods as though everything is decided, and canters off into the woods, leaving both you and the fairies dumbfounded. Before you can gather your thoughts, the fairies decide to assess your capabilities.
"Well, she is big...but we might have to modify her for this to work," you hear the fairy who addressed the unicorn mutter to itself.
"Wait, what do you mean modify?!" you can't help but ask, even though your first question really should be about finding your way home, or your family at least. Your whole experience in this world has just been one strange encounter after another, and you're beginning to fatigue mentally.
"You'll understand when you see it," the fairy replies, conveniently ignoring the part of the deal where you get help in return for your services. "Fairies are too small for this."
