"So what should we do with these three," Nat asked. Rei simply shrugged, Kari appeared to be coloring as Haley and Aaron watched cartoons. "How about I watch the twins while you go with Kari," Rei stated.
Nat nodded, making her way to the toddler who was happily coloring. "What cha doing Kari?"
Kari glanced upwards towards the damphir teen, an innocent smile plastered on her face. "Drawing," she lisped. "I'm making a picture of my mommies." Nat smiled, bending down as she noticed the crude drawings. A blonde stick figure standing next to a dark haired one. "So whatbare your mommies doing?"
Kari paused, a nervous look on her face as she beckoned Nat closer. "Magic," she whispered. "But its a secret. You can't tell anyone."
"I promise I won't say a word," Nat stated. Kari appeared to be happy with this answer, the child happily humming to herself as she continued to draw. "So your three?"
"Uh huh," Kari answered. "And Aaron and Haley just turned two. I'm the big sister!"
"And I'm sure your a great big sister."
"Haley gets in trouble alot," Kari admitted. "But I hafta make sure she's safe." The near preschooler now paused as she looked up at the red haired teen, her eyes lingering on Nat's ring. "Thats pretty."
"Thank you," Nat smiled. "My friend Rei and I bought it."
"Is it magic?"
Nats eyes flew open, unsure exactly how to answer the young girl. It was now Kari who looked up at her, the toddler gazing at her with a look that seemed much older than her three years of age. "You don't hafta be scared," Kari stated. "My mommies friends have rings just like that. Those rings do magic too."
"Uh Rei," Nat said nervously. "Can you come here for a sec."
"I was about to say the same thing," Rei replied nervously. Nat paused, casting her girlfriend a confused look. The damphir teen now gasped as Rei held a pair of fuzzy infants. "What the hell?"
"I don't know," Rei replied quickly. "I was sitting here watching t.v. with the twins and then all the sudden 'poof' they got all fuzzy."
"Thats because they're magic," Kari stated. "Look see, I'm magic too!" Nat now glanced at Kari, watching in stunned silence as the girl began to change.
Dark fur now began to cover the child, her face stretching into a muzzle as a small fox tail now emerged from her rear. Nat and Rei simply gawked at the tiny anthro fox girl as she began to giggle. "Nat whats going on," Rei exclaimed.
"I...I don't know," Nat stammered. The damphir teen now kneeling down to stare at the tiny anthro fox girl. "Kari what are you?"
"Imma kitsune," Kari chirped. "And Aaron and Haley are too, sort of."
"Sort of?"
"They're a little different," Kari stated. "I forget what mommy said. Something bout a tiger." Kari now grinned as she looked into Nats eyes. "You're magic too I can tell."
"Huh how," Rei exclaimed, carrying the two toddlers towards her sister. "I can smell magic," Kari smiled proudly. "Aaron and Haley can too. That's why Haley likes you, she smelled magic. It reminds her of mommy."
"Nat," Rei said, the Asian teen looking at the children apprehensively. "Whats going on? Did you know anything about this?"
"I had no idea," Nat stammered.
"Yku don't hafta be afraid," Kari smiled. "Magic is good. My mommies and her friends are magic. Lots of people are magic."
"But I'm not supposed to show off my magic," Nat replied.
"Why?"
"Because my um magic is scary," Nat replied sheepishly. "Alot of people get scared of what I am."
"You don't hafta be afraid," Kari said. "If Haley likes you than you must be good. Haley doesn't like mean people."
"Nat I'm freaking out here," Rei said nervously. "How can these kids know you're a damphir? And what are they anyway?"
"Whats a dam peer?"
Nat frowned, casting a stern look at Fei who was blushing crimson at her blunder. "Way to keep a secret Rei," she grumbled. Nat now sighed, the teen was well aware of the vampires reputation. Trying to explain her half vampiric heritage to the toddler would be difficult. Especially considering that these children's parents were magical. If the rumors she had heard was true than Kari's parents were currently fighting the vampire nation.
"I'm part vampire," Nat sighed. "But not a bad vampire a good one. I don't hurt people."
"Oh," Kari gasped. "Like Aunt Nomi's friend."
"Aunt Nomi?"
Kari nodded, smiling up at the damphir and her girlfriend. "Uh huh he's a nice vampire too. Do you know him? Are there anymore good vampires?"
Nat and Rei now looked at one another, shocked to learn about not only wizards but the existence of another damphir as well.
