The Magic Shop

Made with Love

“I burnt it again…” Sam sighed.
“Oh wow that’s a really nice.. tasty looking.. what is it?” Lori smiled as she looked at the singed log of food.
“My mom’s meatloaf…” Sam sighed, “I always leave it in too long….”
“Trust me, that ketchup sauce covers a world of hurt…” Lucy reassured Lori. “Not that it doesn’t taste good without it!!!”
Sam sighed and bowed her head.
“Hey, the Mac and Cheese is still good!” Jamie smiled as she pulled out the pan of cheesy noodles coated in bread crumbs.
“And the potatoes look nice.” Zoya said as she scooped out a huge hunk of fluffy white mashed potatoes.
“Remember girls, Wendy, Tina, and Angela won’t be hone until later.” Sam said.

Every bite came with a brittle crunch.
“Geez Sam, you really incinerated this one.” Lucy said.
Christy kicked the brunette under the table, making her yelp.
“You know… wiiiith a little bit of potatoes, it’s not that bad!” Zoya grinned as she strained to chew.
“I know it’s shitty… I’m sorry.” Sam sighed “My sister was the one who helped mom make all of it…”
Colin searched for the words to say as he took a bite, when suddenly new memories surged within him.
“It’s not always perfect, but it’s still good in my book.” Colin said.
“You’re just saying that.” Sam pouted.
“No I mean it.” Colin said as he set his hand on her shoulder.
The blonde amazon perked up.
“From the burnt sugar cookies every Christmas to the soggy fried chicken every Easter…” Colin said as he took a huge bite and savored that tangy ketchup and thyme flavor “You made it with love, and that’s what counts.”
Sam blushed and smiled softly.
“You always know what to say…” She smiled as she hugged him.

Sam washed the dishes quietly as Colin came up behind her and kissed her on the shoulder going all the way along her neck.
“Heyyyy, stoooooop!!!” She giggled.
“Just checking up on you.” Colin smirked.
They held each other for a moment or two.
“I guess Marinette wasn’t taking that class too seriously…” Sam said.
“I guess not.” Colin said.
“I was wondering… could I go with you next class?” Sam asked, “I wanna get better at cooking…”
“Of course…” Colin smiled.
