The scientist sighed. "Well, ultimately the Society Act was passed after, and you can't reveal this to the public, we made contact with an alien race. This isn't generally known yet, but... well, we hope it will be."
Lily looked shocked. "You're messing with me. What are you actually doing to me?"
He sighed. "Look, I'm not lying, OK. Most of the experiments involve alien technology, some of them aren't experiments so much as we use the Society Act as a cover-up for, uh... diplomatic exchanges. You'll be marrying the son of the King of Traxilaxx." It sounded made up, like something out of a sci-fi movie!
"Well, I don't know who told you that, because I won't be marrying any of you-" The police escort suddenly seized her arms, hauling her away as she struggled, deeper into the facility. "Hey! Let me go!"
She was taken away, stripped, both of clothes and dignity, and strapped to some sort of enormous operating table in a sterile room, various technicians bustling about. "Listen, Ms Scott, you're going to have to undergo some changes, obviously an alien isn't going to marry a human, but... well, there are apparently very few female Traxilaxxians born."
She tried to spit at him, but her mouth felt too try. He smirked. "Look on the bright side, Ms Scott. He's a prince. You might be Queen one day! Now this may take a while, but he did provide us with an exacting list of specifications for his bride..."
