Lily Scott was the archetypal young British actress. After a string of surprise hits and a turn in a big franchise, she was just going forward into her 30s with still shining bright career prospects.
Or rather she had, until her British citizenship had led to her being taken in: she'd been selected for this year's experiment.
Her lawyers had tried everything, but... well, here she was now, arriving at the government facility, covertly flanked by a couple of undercover police in dark suits, just to ensure she wouldn't make a run for it. She wouldn't, of course, if she had to do this, she'd do it with dignity. Lily was about 5'5'', taller in her high heels and long sleek black dress. Her skin was pale, like every classic English Rose, her hair an attractive brunette bob cut. Her grey eyes were concealed behind large sunglasses. She kept her lips pursed and shoulders back as she was led into the facility, into a small room and sat down at a formica table facing a government bureaucrat in a suit. He sweated nervously as he looked at her.
"Well, uh, Miss Scott, I expect you'll be wondering what experiment you'll be taking part in for the foreseeable future?"
She turned her nose up, before talking in measured tones in her clipped, upper class, drama school accent. "Well, I'm going to find out anyway."
He scratched at the back of his neck. "Ah, yes. Well, here's what it is. It's..."
