The Chronivac simply displayed the progress bar of the transformation as Jeff simply watched it slowly move. He had no clue what kind of animal he would, all he knew he would become the pet of some kind. At the time he pressed enter, he didn't think of how the Chronivac would do its work. Not every house already had a pet around. But now, he grew bored waiting.
Jeff's house had only one other human home, his younger sister, who was something of a brat. Their mother was out running errands and their father was still at work. Much as he liked furries, his parents wouldn't let him or his sister have any pets that could run around. The nearest dog he knew of belonged to the neighbor. He didn't have a pet of his own, not after the hamster incident, but his sister did.
He headed downstairs to get himself a snack, figuring it didn't really matter where he waited for the changes to occur. He wondered where his sister was...had she already changed? What was taking so long?
He entered the kitchen and reached for the door to the fridge...and...couldn't open it. He looked down, surprised to see his arms were gone. His arms had vanished, and his hands were just attached to the side of his chest. "This is weird," he exclaimed, his snack forgotten, wondering what sort of creature he was turning into.
He wandered back into the living room, and spotted the fish tank in the corner of the room...and the fish inside...had grown arms.
Suddenly, his legs gave out from under him, and he flopped to the floor. He turned around to see a large tail fin where his legs had been.
He suddenly found himself scooped up in a green net and tossed into the fish tank. He gurgled for a few moments in surprise before starting to breath normally. He looked out and saw...a giant fish standing on two legs, looking back at him.
