As you head home you start to wonder how the battle would have turned out if Ruby had not interfered.
You probaly would have lost.
If that had happened, you would have lost both books, and possibly wound up dead or worse.
At first, the thought of just giving up crosses into your mind. However, you soon dismiss it.
You want to continue searching for the other books, but if you loose in a fight there's no do over. So, you come to the conclusion the best thing would be to practice with the spells, so next time you will be ready for the fight.
There is one slight problem with your plan though. Some of the spells you can use on yourself or without a target. However, others would have lethal effects. At the same time, it wouldn't be right to go around killing people with spells just to practice.
You sigh as you enter your apartment and take out the books.
You'd have to practice somehow.
