Toby walks up to Brayden, “hey Brayden,” he says with a smile, “do you have a minute?”
Brayden looks up, he was deep in thought, he has no idea what to do with his friend now simple Air Jordans. He has so many shoes at his home, he surely did not need and and want another pair, should he give them away? Dakota seemed interested in them... no, Dakota is a weird kid, what if Callum would transform back one day? Brayden felt so lost and unsure what to do with his friend, so he lets out a groan when Toby talks him up, “hey Toby,” he says, “sure, but make it quick. I am need to get to my next class.”
“I am throwing a pyjama party at my place this weekend,” the other boy says, “and I wanted to ask if you'd like to attend it.”
Brayden tilts his head, he does not notice Dakota creeping up behind him, “you never invited me to any of your parties before,” he says, “as far as I know, you don't even really like me.”
Toby sees Dakota creeping up behind Brayden, the other students are all busy hurrying to their next classes that Dakota and Toby know they would not body would pay attention to them. “Yeah... but I figured it's time to put our differences aside,” Toby says, “I always thought that you were a nerd, you are always talking about science and computers.”
While Toby and Brayden are talking, Dakota quietly starts to unzip the other boy's backpack, luckily Brayden's zipper is pretty quiet, and they are talking loud enough that Brayden won't hear the zipper.
Brayden shrugs, “well... I am not a nerd,” he says, “I am just fascinated by science and anything electronic. I want to become a computer programmer or a scientist, I think I could help make the world a better place.”
Toby watches Dakota unzipping Brayden's bag, “and I am fascinated by martial arts,” Toby says with a chuckle, “but, I figured that, even if we are so different, maybe we could still have fun,” he adds with a kind smile.
Dakota manages to grab the “shoes” from Brayden's bag and replace them with the normal shoes, he then zips Brayden's bag back up and starts walking away. The boy grins at the Jordans in his hand, before stuffing them into his own bag, 'hehe... Callum will be happy with me,' he thinks to himself, 'I'll put him to good use.'
Toby watches Dakota walk away, “anyway Brayden,” he says, “we should head to our next classes, think about my invitation. I'd really be happy if you'd accept.”
Brayden nods, “sure, I'll let you know,” he says, “give me two days to decide.”
Toby nods and then hurries down the hall in the direction where Dakota had disappeard, Brayden watches Toby leave and shakes his head, “that was weird,” he mumbles, then he shrugs, “oh, well,” he then turns and heads to his next class.
