The item the counselor gives you is a round object that somewhat reminds you of a makeup compact. It was monochromatic, with circular pearl-white gems rising from a glistening black enamel.
"What is this for?" You held the strange trinket in your hands. "Take a guess!" Claire teased.
Taking a look at the object, it reminds you of those shows you used to watch where a group of girls used similar trinkets to transform into Magical Girls...
You look up and see that the seven other counselors with you also had similar trinkets of varying color.
"So you guys are planning on doing a cosplay?" You asked. Some of the group snort back a laugh. "Not exactly." one of the guys said. Claire puts a hand on your shoulder. "You might want to sit down for this." She pulls up a seat for you.
"Somewhere out there lies another dimension." One of the male counselors, named Jake, began, "A dimension filled with magic...and monsters."
"And this camp is the epicenter, the bridge between these dimensions." A female counselor, Sally, continued. "The founder of this camp was soon besieged by that dimensions monsters. Until one day, he came across seven different objects, ones of great power."
"Entrusting them to his most loyal friends, they managed to beat back the monsters, leaving the land safe once more." the other male, Colin, added.
"But of course, monsters can still breach the veil at any given moment, so we have to be ready." Clair points to the trinket in your hand. "You are our seventh member. Can we entrust you with the responsibility of using this artifact?"
You were quiet for a moment. "No way." You said. "You honestly think you're Magical Boys and Girls?"
