"Mom...stop it!" Sam said, raising his voice.
She turned her angry gaze from Jennifer to her son. "What did you say to ME, young man?"
"Well...what I meant was," Sam stumbled over his words, "Mom, transform or dare!"
Their mother simply stared at Sam incredulously, "Have you lost your mind, Sam?"
"You have to pick one, Mom," Jennifer added, "Or else you get both."
"I'm not going to play your foolish game," replied their mother, looking to her husband for some support, which he didn't exactly offer. Instead, her husband simply sat there looking quite uncomfortable.
"Fine, Mom," replied Sam, sounding rather exasperated, "Then you'll get both, apparently by your own choice. Transform into a pitbull bitch whenever you see a dog, whether in person, on television, or in a picture, changing back only when I command it. I dare you to follow my instructions in either form to the best of your abilities and understanding."
Their mother looked as though she had been punched in the face, reeling backward in her chair as he said the words. "Sam, you really HAVE lost your mind, haven't you?" she asked.
"Shut the fuck up and give Jen twenty dollars," Sam replied.
"Now THAT's about enough, son!" snapped their father, shocked by the language. "She's your mother and I will NOT tolerate that kind of talk!" Much to his amazement, he watched his wife rustle silently through her purse and hand Jen a twenty, smiling at Sam.
"Oh my god...what have you done, son? What have you done?" He muttered.
"I did what had to be done, Dad, whether you realize it or not. You've sat idly by while she's slapped us, beat us with hairbrushes, and a whole lot of other shit. You've sat there in your lazy boy chair and not lifted a fucking finger to stop any of it! So I don't want to hear any of your fucking complaints about the way I or Jen treat her, because it's just fucking karma coming back to get her." Sam was red-faced with anger, looking ready to jump at his father any moment.
Jen thought for a second that her father and Sam really were going to come to blows, but then her father simply bowed his head in defeat. "Whatever you say, son. I just think you're making a terrible mistake bringing that curse into our home."
