Kim pondered her predicament. She had gained powers, just as the fruit had promised, but now she was stuck in the form of a fox.
She examined the Lilith fruit again. Even with one slice removed, the fruit still looked delicious, although it now reeked of fox pheromones, and flowers, for some reason. Squinting a bit, she realized that a nearly transparent mist was emanating from the cut section. Recalling her daughter's words while in the trance, she wondered if this related to her powers. Perhaps eating the rest of the fruit would enhance them somehow. Not coming up with any better ideas, she gobbled down the rest of the fruit in two quick bites.
As she ate, her body began to tingle. Kim had a sudden moment of panic. What if this turned her into a full fox? It was too late now though, as the shivers ran through every inch of her body, and especially along her fuzzy tail. Her body shook with pleasure, as a sudden feeling of nearly orgasmic euphoria struck her. Then, just as suddenly, the feeling vanished, and she felt in control of her own body again.
Kim hesitantly took a few steps forward. Although she remained an anthropomorphic fox, something had definitely changed. With every step she took, a light fog emanated from every pore in her body. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The light mist gave off a refreshing coolness, and smelled heavily of cherry blossoms and other flowers, with just a hint of foxy musk. It reminded her of waking up early in the spring, soaking in the fresh morning dew.
She started spinning around, feeling the magical mist around her. She may not have been human, but she wouldn't have traded this experience for anything. Coming to a graceful stop, she noticed that the tip of her tail was producing smoke that was darker than the rest. Grabbing her furry appendage, Kim experimentally drew a line in the air with it, and gasped. It was like painting with a watercolor brush. The line faded after a few seconds, but it reminded her of something she had long forgotten.
When Kim was a girl, her mother used to teach her calligraphy. She still remembered dipping her brush into the paint, painstakingly tracing the kanji, her mother's hand gently guiding her. She had stopped doing it for some reason, becoming more concerned with boys and material concerns, but now she felt more connected to that tradition than she ever had before. She knew what she had to do.
She once again spun around, deliberately coating herself with the mist. She let the fragrance spill out of her, rapidly forming a thick layer of fog, concealing her from view. Then, she grabbed her new found brush, and sketched one of the simplest kanji she knew: the kanji for human.
The fog sucked into her with a sudden pop, and she involuntarily blinked. She was human again! Kim looked just like she did before she ate any of the fruit. She giggled with relief. She wouldn't have to be a freak at all.
She pawed at her blouse, wondering how her clothes had been restored so effortlessly. However, instead of feeling stiff fabric, she instead felt luxurious fur. She paused, patting around her body. She could still touch her invisible fur and muzzle, and she still felt her tail swaying behind her.
Kim realized what had happened. She had merely cast an illusion on herself to look human. She was still the foxy creature the fruit had turned her into. This was fine with her though. She could still enjoy the benefits of her new form, without having to deal with the pressures of a radically changed life. This was perfect.
She smiled as she saw her husband's car pull up. With her illusion intact, nothing could go wrong. Unfortunately, Kim had failed to realize there was a flaw in her plan. The spell she had cast had a major weakness. What was it?
