“So Alexandria really gave you this for free?” Bianca asked,
“Kind of,” Isabella started, “she’s paying for it, but it’s a birthday gift,”
“For who?” Bianca asked,
“I—” Isabella started, then realised, “I have no idea…” she stopped for a second, “but it’s for everyone, for the party!”
“What is it… exactly?” Sofia asked, “I mean I get that it’s magic—”
“Pfft.” Amy interrupted. Everyone looked at her, “what?”
Everyone continued to stay silent, not sure what to say. Whatever you could say, Amy always had an answer for it. And what’s worse is that her answers are usually right. Finally, Bianca broke the silence,
“Looks, aimes, we know you don’t believe in magic and everything…” she looked around awkwardly, “but you know is real, right?” She asked, almost as if it was obvious,
“You can believe whatever you want,” Amy started, “but I’m telling you, it’s all just science.” She stated, blatantly.
Before an argument could erupt, Isabella took the wheel and stood up, “well! Even if magic is or isn’t real, this will be fun!”
“Look, I’m not saying magic isn’t real,” Amy said, taking the floor again, likely to go on another tangent. Isabella, without much hesitation, pulled the small latch of the box and opened it wide.
———
The box erupted with pink glitter, sparkles, dust! And from this, some kind of being suddenly flew out. As it extended further out of the box, it’s shape formed more and more. Everyone was in awe watching as the being started to look more like a human.
As the last part of the being appeared, the shape finally revealed the fully formed creature… or person?
“WOW!” The being said loudly, “you wouldn’t BELIEVE how long I’ve been in there!”
Everyone was silent, staring. The figure appeared to be female with pink hair, pink skin, pink clothing and pink makeup. Everything she was wearing was pink, as well as skin tight, aside from her hair which appeared much more messy. Chaotic, even.
“What?” She asked, “do you wanna introduce yourselves, or should I go first?”
Everyone was still in shock, silent and staring at her,
“Wow, okay… I guess I’ll start.” She said.
From beneath her feet rose a circular platform, it seemed to come right from the ground.
She spun herself in a circle, looking at each and every one of them in the eyes. Suddenly, she knew exactly who they were. Pointing at them all, she said,
“Sofia with the big butt, Isabella and Jacob the cute couple, Amy the know-it-all, and Bianca and Kenny the other couple, a little more intense as far as I can see…”
“H-how did you know all of that?” Sofia asked, a little afraid. She was never a magic denier, but she had never seen it up close before,
“Well for you, sweetie, it wasn’t really hard to miss…” she replied, extending her arm like plasticine to poke Sofia’s butt,
“But the rest of us…” Bianca asked, “how did you know that we were… together?”
“You see, my dear, I just know things. As well as know things, I can do things. I can change things! And that’s exactly what I’m here to do today!”
“Huh?” Kenny said, puzzled,
———
“Let me explain how this is going to work for you all.
You can call me the genie, however my name really is Eileen. You may think I’m some demon, but nope. I’m a human. I come from Seattle, actually. Anyway, I made a wish that I could always be fun at parties, and here we are!”
“S-so…”
“So when I say fun, I mean we’re all going to have a LOT of fun tonight, and you can thank you friend for that.
To begin, let me go over a couple of rules:
Firstly, don’t piss me off. I don’t like being angry, and you won’t like me when I’m angry.
Second, don’t touch me unless I ask you to, that’s a direct route back to rule one. I’m particularly sensitive.”
“There’s a game with this, right?” Isabella asked,
“Of course!” Genie Eileen said with glee,
“The game will change you all in a number of ways, physically, mentally… emotionally,”
“How the hell do you do that?” Amy asked,
“I can demonstrate for you… I just need your agreement,” Eileen asked,
“I’m not agreeing to anything!.. unless anyone else does…” Amy commented,
“I’m in!” Isabella said cheerfully. Eileen spun around to her, she took her hand and shook it. Isabella’s eyes glowed for a moment,
“All changes can, and will, be reversed at the end. If you really are feeling uncomfortable at any time, I can change some stuff around to help out. Like I said, I’m not a demon,”
“I’m in,” Jacob said, holding his hand out. Eileen smiled, she shook his hand, his eyes glowed the same.
“Why not,” Sofia said, “me too,” Eileen shook her hand.
Bianca and Kenny whispered to each other before saying together, “we’re in,” they held their hands out and Eileen shook them.
And then there was one.
“Look, I get it and all…” Amy said, “but I don’t think it’s okay just go around changing people randomly,”
“It’s not random,” Eileen stated,
“What?”
“It’s not random. You see, with my game, it all depends on the input of everyone! Sometimes I’ll offer a change, however wants it can have it. Maybe I’ll do a vote, or maybe I’ll spin a bottle… or something else,”
“C’mon Amy,” Bianca said, placing her hand on Amy’s arm, “it’ll fun, and safe. I’m sure of it,”
“O-okay…” Amy said, “fine. I’ll do it,” she held out her hand, turning head away refusing to make eye contact with anyone.
Eileen shook her hand and suddenly…
The party had started.
