Taking a bag of gear (a change of clothes, toiletries, a lighter, and a flashlight), Rish trekked through the complicated entryway to lead into her hiding place and out into the world. Taking a deep breath of the air, it smelled like sex and animal musk, but considering her situation, she couldn’t really complain. Despite that, there didn’t seem to be any immediate threat, so she stepped cautiously to the abandoned city.
The city had a much heavier smell in the air, and a lot of the buildings had fallen to ruin, but it seems several people left in quite the hurry. Stores were still somewhat stocked, electronics still worked, and there was still plenty of bottled water. Someone was still here making sure the survivors could still live, although Rish doubted that many were left. Walking to a shop, she grabbed some essentials: bottles of water, soups, rice, and a few other canned goods. Her bag now had some weight to it, slowing her down a bit, but she hoped it would be smooth for the rest of the journey. She was almost immediately proven wrong.
She heard plapping sounds like a two bodies colliding together in rhythm. She put her bag down and drew her sword. Rish wasn’t sure what she was going to do, but she knew she had to be quiet and move fast lest she be caught by whatever was nearby. Besides her sword, all she had was a lighter and a flashlight in her bag. She could see a few on the shelf, but she would have to move over closer to where the noise was and find hope there were some power already in those lights.
