Once Josh had left the room, my calm facade faded and gave way to almost manic excitement. Holy shit! Did all of that really happen?! Did I really transform my roommate from college slob to sexy cowboy? I wanted to scream. I wanted to jump and dance for joy, but I didn't want to make a scene, so, with some hesitation, I calmed myself down.
Phew. Now, after I did that, I became curious about what else this book could do. Immediate changes worked quite well, but would the same thing happen for gradual changes? I quickly opened up the notebook again to write one more line.
"For the next month, whenever Josh works out, I will copy the benefits." I waited for a moment but didn't feel anything happen. Huh, I guess Josh must have not reached the gym yet. Oh, well. I just need to wait for him to reach it, I guess. Although, instead of waiting around, I decided to head out and look for a new test subject.
After leaving my room, I ended up running into my RA. Warren Michales was an art student. He was tall but was quite thin from lack of exercise. Hmmm, I didn't talk to him much, but Warren was nothing but nice and helpful whenever I had a problem or needed something. So instead of completely rewriting him like with Josh, I decided to give Warren a bit of a boost.
"Hey, Warren, how long does it take for you to complete a painting?" I asked. This earned me a raised eyebrow and a look of suspicion from Warren.
"About three days or so, depending on how big the painting is and how busy I am. Why do you ask?" Warren said while still a bit warry, getting asked a random question out of the blue.
"Oh, I was just thinking about getting a commission from someone and just wanted to ask how long it normally would take," I replied. Hopefully, that was convincing enough not to raise any more suspicion. It seemed like it did as Warren just shrugged and went back to his business. After I walked far enough from Warren, I pulled out the notebook again and wrote another sentence.
"For the next month, every time Warren finishes a painting, he will gain 3lbs of muscle." If it takes Warren three days to finish a painting, then he should be able to finish ten paintings this month and gain 30lbs of muscle. Heh, I couldn't wait until this month was over to see how different Warren is going to look.
Speaking of the month, it seemed that Jason had finally reached the gym as I started to feel a strange warm feeling wash over me. I was confused at first until I realized that Josh must have started working out, and I was copying the benefits. Ooh, from the slight burning sensation, it seemed like Josh was working out hard. It wouldn't be long until I had a beach-ready body, it seems.
Yes, it seemed like my experiment was a success. On to the next sentence.
