Obviously, Nicholas was going to wear the informal, masculine outfit! He would take a T-shirt over dressing up like a little girl! However, when he picked up the outfit he’d decided on, he realized that it had massive holes in it. He dug through the box, looking for something else, anything else.
The twins were too rough on their clothes. The only outfit that wasn’t effectively ripped to shreds was Bernadette’s school uniform. And William’s clothing was far too big for him. He had no choice.
“I’ll need to talk to Melissa about this,” Nicholas muttered angrily as he dressed in Bernadette’s school uniform. “If the children are to have spare clothing at my place, they need to be items of clothing that are wearable.”
Nicholas slipped on the dress, checkered in the school’s colors, blue and black. He then put on the white socks and nice, black dress shoes. However, he still looked like a boy, just dressed as a girl. Yes, technically that’s what he was, but it wasn’t how he wanted to appear. Being found out as a boy dressing like a girl was worse than dressing like a girl in the first place!
Luckily, there was a spare white headband in the box. The accessory managed to complete his transformation into a kindergarten-aged girl who attended St. Alexander’s Catholic School. A girl with shorter hair than the school usually allowed, but it still worked.
Finally satisfied, Nicholas grabbed Bernadette’s spare backpack, loaded it with his keys, phone, wallet, and the dice case, and left his apartment. He felt incredibly vulnerable as he rode the elevator down to the first floor. He hadn’t realized just how big things would be at this age. Maybe he should reconsider whether he was going to take the bus.
