IF SHE DOESN'T WANT ANY AVAILABLE MAN SHE KNOWS, SHE WILL ALSO HAVE THE PHOTOS OF 25 RANDOM MEN TO CHOOSE FROM, AND SHE CAN PICK ANY OF THOSE. EVERY FEMALE OR MALE WHO HAS HIT PUBERTY WILL BE IN THE DRAFT. AS AN ADDED BONUS, AFTER MAKING HER DECISION, THE FEMALE WILL BE ALLOWED TO CHOOSE THE HEIGHT OF THE MAN TO SUIT HER TASTES. I'LL MAKE SURE THAT TECHNOLOGY IS AVAILABLE."
After her short speech, the broadcasts end, and among the women the chatter starts almost immediately. "How will this work?" "Who will you pick?" "Should I choose a celebrity, or that guy I've always had a crush on?" "Should I stay with my husband or find someone new?" "I wonder if someone will pick my boyfriend before I can."
For the men of the world, the reaction is nothing short of horror.

For your part, you don't hear any of this. For the past six months, you and several thousand other men have been assembling Mary Lynn's dream house somewhere in the Rockies. Frankly, it's more like a palace, and Mary Lynn insists that it be built to scale, even though she could easily take out the gun and enlarge a normal-sized house to suit her fancy. As a result, you're part of the team building a palace with hundreds of rooms that stands over a mile tall. You have to scour the entire world for supplies, and sometimes Mary Lynn has to step in and transform a rock into a supply of timber, or a tree that becomes a giant marble sink.
One day, you're assembling the second story of Mary Lynn's dream house, standing on a rickety ledge thousands of feet above the ground. Even at your elevation, you can still hear the soft thunder of Mary Lynn's footsteps well before she approaches. It's an arrival you're well familiar with, but you still start to panic just as you do every other time Mary Lynn comes around. You hold onto the rope hanging you up in the air, and wait for her booming voice.
"OKAY, JUST SO YOU KNOW, WE'RE INSTITUTING A DRAFT OF ALL MEN. YOU'LL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THE RULES AS IT GOES ALONG. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED TO HURRY UP AND FINISH. NOW WHERE'S MY LITTLE SEX TOY?" You know she'll find you right away somehow, and sure enough, she grabs you into her gigantic palm within seconds, and lifts you to her face. You hate it when she calls you that; you don't even want to think about what she's been doing to you ever since she became ... well, a goddess.
