Danny hummed as he headed for the employee break room to use his potty. He was officially on break now, so he could pee in a toilet and change into a fresh diaper. His current one was getting wet and clammy.
“Danny?” Danny came to a stop. He looked over. It was Kristof.
“Oh, hi, Kristof. What’s up?”
“Come with me to my office, please.”
“Oh. Okay.” Danny followed Kristof to his office. Kristof closed the door behind them. He crouched in front of Danny. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, but you’re fired,” Kristof said. Danny’s jaw dropped in shock. His bladder, begging for release, emptied due to the startling news. There was a soft hiss as Danny’s diaper became even wetter.
“Why?”
“Well, your sales have been slipping. I tried to give you time to adjust to your current situation, but I just can’t justify it any longer. Sorry bud.” Kristof patted him on the head. “Honestly, though, I think it’s better for you. You’re three. You shouldn’t be working on anything except for potty training and your numbers and alphabet.”
“My potty training is fine!” Danny protested.
“I mean, you did just pee yourself.”
“You surprised me!”
“And I’ve been told by your coworkers that you wear diapers on long shifts so that you can pee yourself multiple times without needing to be changed.”
“I- but-” Danny took a deep breath. “What am I supposed to do now?” he asked, hating how pathetic he sounded.
“You’ll be awarded a large sum to compensate your change and loss of job. It will be placed in a bank account that you can access once you’re eighteen again.”
“I can’t have it now?”
“Now that you’ve been fired, no. You were in a gray area while employed by us that allowed you to technically qualify as a legal adult. Without that employment, you’re just a toddler in the eyes of the law.”
“What use is the money if I can’t access it?” Danny demanded. “I- I need to live somewhere!”
“Yes, and we’ll arrange for that.”
“Huh?”
“In addition to getting monetary compensation, our lawyers are handling everything legal, when it comes to how to establish you as a three-year-old boy. We’re even going to take care of guardianship or adoption papers, as well as provide a stipend to your legal guardian until you enter kindergarten.”
“…That’s nice. I guess.”
“So, who do you want to raise you?”
