As Kadie Brennan left Gym class, Lily Nichols came up to greet her. Lily was one of the most passionate members of the school's drama club, and her tall, thin body was definitely built more for the stage than the gym. Lily was pawing at her freckled face with a towel, her dark brown hair matted with sweat.
"Whew!" Lily groaned. "Gym is freaking murder! I get plenty exercise running back and forth onstage in the auditorium, so why the hell do I have to go to Gym, too?!"
"I actually really like Gym," said Kadie.
"Well, you're built for it," Lily said, appreciatively eyeing Kadie's muscular arms and legs. "Still, I'm not sure how you can survive coming here twice, once for Gym class and once for basketball practice."
"It's really a ton of fun," said Kadie. "Especially today. Selena Lyall's coming over to transform some new pack members." Kadie double-took when she realized what she'd just said.
"Uhhh... what?" Lily asked. "Transform? Pack members? The hell?!"
"Shit, shit, shit!" Layla Kowalski shouted as she sprinted over to Kadie and Lily. "Kadie, what the fuck are you doing?!"
"I'm sorry," said Kadie. "I forgot that not everybody knows about Selena's pack."
"You forgot?!" Layla snapped in disbelief.
"Well, I've believed in this stuff for years," shrugged Kadie. "It's almost normal to me."
Layla crossed her arms. "Well, what do we do now?"
"I say we let her in on the secret," said Kadie. "The pack could always use some extra werehyenas, right?" She turned to Lily. "Hey, Lily, remember that play you starred in last year? That experimental all-female production of the Jekyll & Hyde musical?"
"Sure!" Lily smiled. "Playing two connected characters was a blast!"
"Then you'll know all about a person who can transform into a more bestial version of themself," said Kadie. "I guess you know the old legends about werewolves, right? How some people transform into feral beastmen beneath a full moon? Well, there's a lot of truth to those stories. I should know. My friend Selena Lyall comes from a werewolf family, and she's a werehyena herself. Werehyenas are extra cool; they're an all-female race of werebeasts that have dicks in addition to their pussies so they can breed."
"Is this another one of your wacky paranormal conspiracy theories, Kadie?" asked Lily.
"No, it's the truth!" Layla interjected. "I was reluctant to believe it, too, but now I've got no choice."
"Why?" asked Lily.
"Because I'm a werehyena myself now," said Layla. "So's Kadie. Why do you think we're both so buff and hairy? Even our human forms are affected by our transformation."
Lily raised an eyebrow. "And just how did you become werehyenas?" she asked skeptically.
"Selena turned us," said Kadie. "She bought this magic cock ring from a witch that causes her sexual fluids to carry the werehyena blessing and transform us once we take it into our bodies. She's building her own pack, and she recruited us yesterday in the gym after practice."
"This sounds completely nuts!" Lily said, shaking her head.
