Dan unbuckled himself from his booster seat. He reached for the door handle, but it swung open to reveal his roommate Greg Nakamura.
“Greg, I’ve told you, I can get my own door,” Dan said tartly. He climbed down from his booster seat and grabbed his shoulder bag and the brown paper bag containing his lunch.
“I just wanna make things easier on you, y’know?” Greg said. Dan rolled his eyes. “Have a good day at work!”
“I’ll do my best,” Dan mumbled. Greg got back into the car and drove away. Dan sighed heavily and walked into the store. When the girl had left the store, she had somehow managed to return him to his proper age, but not his proper size. He was still the size of a toddler.
Multiple trips to the doctor confirmed that Dan was a fully grown adult and exactly the same as he had been before the change, with the exception that he was now the size of a three-year-old. Thankfully, work had agreed to cover the cost of the custom-made clothes Dan now needed. Sure, he could try to wear toddler clothes, but he had a difficult time feeling like an adult as it was. He refused to dress like anything other than the adult he truly was.
The lone exception to his adult, but shrunken, wardrobe were his undergarments. The custom-made boxers and briefs kept getting shipping delays, and until they arrived, he was stuck in the only thing that fit: training pants.
