...For some reason, the picture instead showed a chubby young boy, around the same age as his sister or perhaps even a little younger, sitting in a light blue-colored room instead of his sister’s green one, playing with superhero action figures. The boy was wearing dirty, mud-stained denim overalls and a blue shirt with cartoon characters on it, and velcro shoes, yet somehow the boy sorta looked like his sister when he examined it a little closer. He had a gap in his teeth and freckles. His hair was the same color, but shorter. Even more than his sister, the boy looked like photos of himself and his brother Luke when they were her age, the big difference was just how hefty he was compared to the both of them. He was a bit rounder than his sister ever was. The door to the room, still visible in the photograph, had the name “ELLIS” on it, instead of what his sister usually had on her’s, “LIZZY”.
Suddenly he heard what sounded like a child roaring and imitating the sounds of a fight, and looked up, only to find, to his surprise, his sister’s room had completely changed to look like the one in the photograph, and what’s more, the little boy in the photo was there instead, banging his actions figures together in excitement, clearly imagining a fierce battle between them. “L-Liz?!” Jake gasped in astonishment, catching the boy’s attention, “Hey, big bro, wanna play?” He asked.
Jake was seriously confused, but suddenly remembered what was engraved on that camera. He looked down at it, and then at the photo in his hands. It couldn’t be possible, could it? He looked back at the family photographs down the hall, and suddenly realized this boy had replaced his sister in all of them. Did the camera really transform her? It seemed unbelievable, but he couldn’t figure out any other explanation. “U-Uh… Maybe not right now.” Jake said, clutching the camera as he began to wonder if he could change anything else.
“Aw, come on! You NEVER have time to play with me.” The fat boy, who he guessed was named ‘Ellis’, pouted in frustration, as he went back to bashing his toys together. Jake wasn’t sure what to do. This all seemed so weird.
