Darkness… That’s all Lisa feels… That’s all Lisa sees… That’s all Lisa is experiencing… Total darkness… It’s not that long ago that Lisa obtained the pocket watch and regressed herself. But when she accidentally broke the watch, she not only rewound herself out of existence, but her entire family tree as well. Because of that, she has no way in returning back and is stuck in non-existence limbo. Stuck in this bizarre purgatory, all she could do and sleep for eternity in the world of absolute nothingness. But after hours, she knew that sleep is impossible as she had no lungs to breathe, no brain to dream, or a heart to actually live. So she stayed awake as a non-sentient nothing. Lisa mentally sighed to herself and find all this to be boring.
“This is boring… How long was I stuck in this empty void? Weeks? Months? Years? Centuries? Hmm… Naw, I guess it was a few short hours. Sheesh… Being stuck in this dark void after regressing myself and my family is mental torture. Can’t walk, can’t eat, can’t even sleep.”
Lisa gave it a bit of a thought and remembered how she got in this mess in the first place.
“This is all my fault. If I didn’t get that stupid pocket watch, none of this wouldn’t have happened. I should’ve been alive, with a mother, a family, a life. Now here I am, stuck in this dark limbo with no way to returning to it all. I just wish I didn’t get that watch. What am I to do…?”
As she was thinking about it, she noticed something ahead of her. In front of her a small white light appeared and in front of her and was starting to grow bigger. She looked on and was a little confused as to why it was starting to show.
“Huh? That’s odd… Where did this light come from? My entire family was erased from existence. There is no way this light would begin to appear again without another ancestor.”
By the time she spoke about it, more lights started to appear around the first one and started to grow along with it. Those lights soon started to show something that got her surprised.
“What the…?”
All in front of her, she sees what appears to be multiple images of a various worlds. One of them is that of modern city that she used to live in. But the others two different things. The first were cities and towns in the past and future, be that ancient Egypt, Victorian London, or even a futurist utopia. The other half showed what looked like alternate realities such as a fantasy world, space, or a steampunk. Looking at all the images, she was shocked to see it all.
“Wow… Look at all of these images. So many cities and towns, so many various worlds. I never have seen something as beautiful as all of this. What is all this.”
That’s when she heard a mysterious voice behind her.
“That is your rebirth, my young one.”
She overheard that and nearly got startled. Turning her non-existing body around, she saw a light of a person brighter then any of the pictures. When it faded, she was stunned to see what looks like an angel of some time with huge D cup boobs, curves that looks like an actual hourglass, and a face of true beauty with long flowing blonde hair. She was even wearing clock like accessories with a stop watch attached the end of the robe, a strapless tank top with a digital clock ticking, and her waist is an actual hourglass with grains of sand ticking downward. Hence the reason why it is a shape of an hourglass. Lisa looked on and was in awe by this being.
“Wow… You look beautiful! Who are you?”
The mysterious and strange angle gave her a gracious bow and introduced herself.
“I go by many names young one. But you will refer to me as the Goddess of Time. It’s an honor to meet you, Lisa.”
Lisa was shocked in with non existing face and said to her, “How… How do you know my name?!”
The Time Goddess gave a small smile and said back, “Oh my young one, I know so much about you. Like I know many of beings, from when they are born and when they move on. I even know when you will move on as well. That is…until you cheated both death and life.”
Lisa heard that and lowered her non existing head in shame. “Yes… It’s true. I bought this Regression Pocket Watch and was curious if it actually worked. I did start with a few years to shave off and I thought I found something to relive my childhood or something else entirely. But, under my fault, the watch broke and was stuck in reverse. So not only regressing me to nothing, but also my entire family tree to just an acorn. Argh… I’m so stupid.”
The Time Goddess turned her head away and knew what she was saying. “Indeed… There will be those who will do things to help elongate their lives and cheat the inevitable end. They would invent things or search for ways to live forever. But in the end, it gets the better of them and they pay for their pre-lives of not them, but those who came before them.” She turned to what is left of Lisa and told her, “I’m so sorry for you and your family line, young Lisa. You’re curiosity in tempering your life and the ones before you have cost you deeply. But there is a way to fix it.”
Lisa heard that and lifts her non-existing head up with that shocking news. “Really? There is a way?” she asked in excitement.
The Time Goddess nodded and pointed to the portals. “There is. Chose these portals our various worlds. Some of them are from different timelines; others alternate worlds and realities, and one where you once lived. You enter one of them, you will be reborn into that world and-“
“You mean Isekai’ed?” Lisa interrupted her.
The Goddess blinked at her and asked, “Pardon?”
Lisa mentally sighed and explained to her what that meant. “You know… Isekai’ed! It’s where someone from the real world dies and be reborn in an entirely different universe. It’s somewhat an anime term that some Japanese company made up. You wouldn’t understand.”
The Time Goddess had a blank expression and was trying to process that part. “I see… Isekai’ed… Hmm… I like the sound of that.” She cleared her throat and continued what she was saying before getting interrupted. “Anyways, when you choose which world you want to live you will be ‘Isekai’ed’ into this world.”
Looking back to the multiple portals, Lisa asked her, “So… When I choose one of these portals, I will be reborn there?”
That’s when the Time Goddess told her the second part of the whole thing. “That is correct. But there is one catch. When you choose, you’re rebirth would be random.”
Lisa heard that part and turned to her, asking, “You mean… If I enter one of these portals, I won’t be born as a girl?”
The Goddess nodded and said, “It depends… You can be born as a girl, but you can also be born as a boy, an animal, or a certain creature in certain worlds, mostly in the alternate dimensions. Either way, you will be born in a world you choose. Where it will take you, that’s up to you.”
Turning back to the worlds in front of her, Lisa gave it some serious thought. She is given the opportunity in being Isekai’ed into a different world that the mess up she did with the Regression Pocket Watch. But she fears being born differently. Indeed, being a boy or girl won’t be a problem, but the being born as an animal would complicate matters. But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she can’t turn down such an offer. Still, there is one thing that nags her and she wants to ask that.
“Tell me, if get Isekai’ed into the world I choose, will I remember any of this? Like my previous life, the pocket watch I bought that regressed me back to nothingness, this meeting? Will I remember any of it?”
The Time Goddess nodded and told her, “Of course. Anyone who is reborn in a new world will have memories of their previous life. It helps better themselves in their new lives. But that is up to you. If you wish to forget your previous life and have a clean slate in your new world, then I won’t stop you. Just choose which world you want to be Isekai’ed and enjoy your new life. Just remember, I will always be watching you.”
Lisa heard that and turned to ask her about that. But before she could ask, the Time Goddess vanished and there was nothing but black nothingness. Turning back around, she could see the multiple worlds to be born in. All the possibilities and adventures. It’s all endless.
“Getting Isekai’ed into a new world… I never dreamed of living an actual anime.” She said to herself. Looking at the multiple worlds, she pondered which to pick. “Hmm… I need to be careful which world I pick. I only have one choice and I don’t want to pick wrong. I just hope I would be born as a human, no matter which gender I would be. The last thing I want is to be born as a dumb animal.”
Looking at each portal, she wondered which world she wants to be Isekai’ed in. Floating around the multiple worlds, Lisa has made her choice.
