Jennifer sat down at an empty table in the cafeteria, her lunch tray containing simply a carton of milk and a large portion of salad. For some reason, the hamburgers they were serving today were off-putting to her stomach. She guessed that sheep-girls were primarily vegetarians.
Halfway through eating, Liz sat down across the table. "So, what's up?" she asked.
"I've gaaa-aat aaa little praaa-aablem," Jennifer started to explain. She gave nervous glances around the room, deciding this was too public a place to talk to Liz about the curse. "Aaa-aafter lunch we'll go somewhere more praaa-aaivaa-aate."
"All right," Liz said, giving Jennifer a cautious look.
They ate lunch in silence, then both went to dump their trays and walked out of the cafeteria. Glancing at the clock, Jennifer noted that she had ample time to explain everything before the next period started.
She lead Liz to the nearest bathroom, and once inside checked to make sure all of the stalls were unoccupied.
"What's so secret we have to talk about it in a bathroom?" Liz demanded.
"Weee-eell," Jennifer started to explain, but paused for a moment. Liz simply stared at her with crossed arms.
"Ooo-okay," Jennifer continued. "Do yooo-oou know about the Traa-aaansform or Daaa-aaa-are curse?"
Liz's eyes widened momentarily, confirming Jennifer's question. "What about it?"
"Remee-eember thaa-aat freshmaa-aaa-aaan we paaa-aaantsed laaa-aaa-aaa--" Jennifer paused to take a stern cough to try and get the bleating out of her voice. "Laa-aast week?"
"Yeah, of course," Liz smirked. "Little brat."
"Hee-eee caa-aaled me this morning," Jennifer said. "Kyle Pe-e-erkins. Heee used the curse on mee-ee. I cho-o-ose traaa-aansform"
"Are you serious?" Liz said, clearly shocked. "Did it actually do anything to you?"
Jennifer swung her woolly arms wide. "Look at me-e-ee! Whaa-aat do you think?!"
Liz paused for a moment, looking Jennifer up and down, puzzled.
"Don't aa-aai look different?"
"Now that you mention it, I think your horns are a bit longer, but that's nothing new. They've been growing in for over a year now."
Glancing at the large bathroom mirror, Jennifer saw that her horns actually were longer. They had been growing all day, and had at least doubled in length. The yellow-gray horns were thicker now, curling in a semi-circle all the way to the back of her head.
"Noo-ooo, you doo-ooo-oon't understaaa-aaa-aaaa--" Jennifer closed her mouth and scowled in frustration. "Hee-ee turned mee-ee into a shee-ee-eep!"
Liz scoffed. "You've always been a sheep-girl, Jennifer. What are you saying all this stuff for? Are you feeling all right? You must have heat exhaustion with those stuffy clothes on."
The truth was, Jennifer was indeed feeling very hot at the moment, but there was nothing she could do about it save tearing off her shirt. And she wagered that wouldn't totally solve the problem.
"Kyle maa-aade it so that nobo-o-dy would notice," Jennifer explained.
Liz's face had suddenly turned pale. "Wait a minute," she said.
"Aa-aaaa-I'm not maa-aaking this up!" Jennifer insisted.
"If Kyle really did say the curse to you, then it passed onto you."
"Ye-e-es, it did! Thaa-aat's whaa-aat aaa-I've--"
"Jennifer!" she shouted in alarm. "You said the words to me! You passed on the curse to ME!"
Thinking back, Jennifer realized she was right. She had asked Liz if she had ever heard of "Transform or Dare," and just by saying the words passed on the curse.
"It's been over a minute! That means I have to get both transform AND dare!" Liz started shaking nervously.
"Caa-aalm down," Jennifer said. "Aaa-I'll be the one to chaa-aange you, so there's no nee-ee-eed to worry."
Hearing this brought Liz back to her senses. "Oh. Right, sorry Jennifer," Liz stammered. "I'm not the superstitious type, but if what you're saying is true..."
"It is," Jennifer said. "Aaa-aand I'll prove i-i-it. I daa-aa-are you to reali-i-ize the truth that aaa-aa-I was just turned into aa-aa shee-eeee-eep-girl this morning."
A fog rolled across Liz's eyes for an instant, then lifted. She brought her hands to her face, almost screaming but stopping herself at the last instant. "Oh my gosh. The curse actually convinced me that you had always been a sheep-girl! I had memories of you looking like that in my head from years ago!"
"It's the cuuu-uurse," Jennifer explained. "Ii-iit does thaa-aa-aat. Now I haa-aave to traa-aansform you." Jennifer gestured her three-digit hands in a coaxing manner to tell Liz that she should decide for herself how to be transformed.
"Okay, umm...," Liz pondered the thought for a moment. "Well, I've always wondered what it would be like to have..."
