She finally reached school--just in time--and entered her homeroom thoroughly drenched in sweat. As she sank into her chair, her mouth hung open, panting excessively.
"Pretty hot day, huh?"
Jennifer lifted her head and saw her friend Liz standing over her desk. She dumped her shoulder bag on the desk next to Jennifer's and took a seat. "You're pretty dressed up for a day like this."
"Whaaa-aa?" came Jennifer's meek reply. She shut her mouth tight and blushed with embarrassment over her voice...blushed as much as a sheep-girl could, anyway.
"It's 83 outside, and it's probably going to get even hotter," Liz said. "You don't really need those clothes today."
"Oh." Jennifer was relieved that her appearance wasn't startling anyone, but it felt a bit weird that one of her friends was talking to her as if she'd been a sheep-girl her entire life. Even weirder was the fact that she was also suggesting Jennifer remove her clothes in homeroom.
Then she thought of something. What if Liz could help her out? Getting revenge on Kyle and forcing him to change her back was at the top of her to-do list, and the more friends she had on her side, the better.
"Liz, aa-aaa-I'd lii-iike to taaa-aalk to you aa-baaaout something," she stammered. She was finding it difficult to form her words properly, especially in long sentences at a time.
"Sure," Liz said. "What is it?"
The bell sounded, dismissing the students to first period classes.
"Laaaater," Jennifer bleated. "Find me aa-aaat lunch taaa-ime."
Jennifer hoisted herself from her chair and followed the crowd of students out into the hall.
