"Star," Spark exclaimed. "How the fuck are their Unseelie here? Aren't they supposed to be extinct?"
"There are some," Star replied sheepishly. Spark now began to turn crimson, her greenish skin darkening as she glared at her sister.
"Some," she growled. "Some! What the hell! How did Queen Glitter agree to let them stay here." Star now rubbed her neck sheepishly, fidgeting in place before answering. "I kinda of talked her into it."
Rei now watched as Spark exploded in anger. The younger sister unleashing a string of profanities, Star for her part taking the tongue lashing in stride. As Rei watched she began to think things over. In less than 30 minutes she had seen a group of fairy children try to bite Miranda's finger off and an evil fairy try to enslave Miles. The damphir teen now began to think that her mother was wrong. Maybe this wasn't the safest place for them to be. "Spark maybe we should leave."
"What," Star exclaimed, the orange fairy now pushing past her sister. "You can't leave! Not yet anyway, please."
"Um Nat has a point," Rei interrupted. "I mean we want to meet the queen and everything but this place seems kinda dangerous."
"Please," Star pleaded. "I'll, I'll talk with the royal guards. We can make sure you are completely safe during your stay. Please, just give it another chance."
"Spark," Connor stated. "What do you think?" Spark furrowed her brow, the fairy approaching her older sister before staring her dead in the eye. "If anything happens to my friends Star," she growled. "I'll end you."
"Spark," Star stammered, alarmed by her sisters statement.
"I will Star and you know it," Spark said softly, her voice tinged with anger. "You maybe my sister but we're completely different fairies. You spent years studying at the greatest citadels of knowledge. Years tutored by the wisest teachers our people have. Your a diplomat, a politician."
Star simply nodded, still stunned by her sisters outburst.
"Me," Spark continued. "Well, I studied under dad. Learned to fight, followed in moms footsteps, hell I ended up fighting against the Unseelie. You remember when we went to war with them, right sis? Remember how many fairies died trying to stop the Winter Court?"
"I remember," Star said quietly.
"Course you do," Spark scoffed. "You and the other politicians do. You think I wasn't paying attention? Watching as you and the council would make speeches in remembrance of fairies lost. Empty words from empty people. And you wonder why I don't visit more often."
Rei and her friends watched silently, unsure of what to say. This was a personal matter between sisters, the teens feeling uncomfortable by witnessing this family squabble yet appreciating Spark for being so protective of them.
"Spark," Nova said softly, placing her hand on her daughters shoulder. "I promise your friends will be safe. Your sisters will make sure they are safe. Please, I hate watching you two fight. Can you make peace with your sister? For me?"
"Sure mom," Spark sighed, her eyes focused on Star. "I'll hold my tongue. Play nice with Star. But I am serious, anything happens to my friends and their isn't anyone in all the realms thats going to keep me from seeking vengeance."
Nova nodded, the group breathing a sigh of relief as they now continued. "Now let's head for home," she said. "Zee and Cosmo should be home from work now. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see their big little sister."
"Yeah I'm sure they'll find it hilarious I look younger than them now," Spark chuckled. The fairy now turned, noting the concerned looks on her shrunken friends faces. "Sorry," she said softly. "Didnt mean to blow my top."
"Its fine Spark," Connor stated, the shrunken teen taking his girlfriends hand in his. "We appreciate you looking out for us."
Spark smiled, beckoning her friends forward as they continued on towards her mothers home. Rei and Nat now exchanged a worrisome look, wondering what else awaited them on this week long trip.
