He woke up to another day. Another day closer to get back to Molly’s house and closer to the zipper. The shock of the first two days was gone but that didn’t make his current life any better. He still hated waking up seeing paws in front of him. During the night he tried again to concentrate for the skin to open up. He just needed something to do, something to give him any kind of activity that gave him a feeling he just didn’t accept his fate.
This day started quieter than he expected. Helen took Princess for a walk to let her do her usual business. After that Helen let her inside, filled the bowl with dry food, made sure Princess had fresh water in the other bowl and left the house.
David was a bit confused. She didn’t tell him where she was going or when she was coming back. But then again why would she bother telling a dog something like that.
He had the house all for himself. Jennifer's house. He didn’t spend as much time with her as he wanted, seeing how Jennifer didn’t really do a good job dog keeping and loading most of the work to her mother.
He had time to explore the house without anyone bothering him or keeping him out of areas. He moved to the second floor and went into the only room he hasn’t been in yet. It looked like a boys room. David remembered Jennifer had a little brother, just a few grades below them.
“Oh yeah he’s probably at the summer school trip every new 7th grade class takes. Man those were fun times. Wish I could have gone there. Next time I use the zipper to go to one of those trips again.” Next time. That word hung around in his mind. Would there be a next time? Would he even use it again if he ever gets out of this poodle body? If?
“No David you will get out of this. I’m sure of it. In a few years I will look back at this and laugh how I spend two weeks as a female poodle only able to bark.” He had a hard time believing himself but it was better than the alternative.
“Think David. Maybe something in here can help me” His look went towards the computer in the room. Even though he had no thumbs the power on button was facing the front. Meaning he could still activate it if he pressed his claw against it. It worked, he heard the rumbling of the hard drive and the screen turned on. “Guess it’s not a gaming PC” he thought.
From down there it was hard to see what was on the screen, he bit into on of the chairs wheels and pulled it back. His jaw was the only thing he could use to grab something.
Jumping on top of the chair he saw it was powered up. “Thank god it was not password protected. He will probably change that the older he gets. I have to meet one dude who does not have porn on his computer” Not really sure how he will proceed from now on he tried moving the mouse around a bit with his paw. It was difficult to move but it was doable, just bringing the mouse into possition and carefully laying his paw on the left mousebutton. The keyboard was a complete different story. His paw was way too big for any single letter to hit. Just like turning on the computer he had to use his longest claw to carefully hit each button separately.
It took him a half hour to just open the browser and another two to just look up the magical shop on the search engine. Trying to find if it reappeared in any other location. With nothing really promising showing he gave up and went over to his main plan. One hour later and he finally managed to open a text document. Just as it opened he could hear a key turning inside the front door. He had to be quick now. Typing like his life depended on it, which it did, he managed to creat a sentence hoping Helen or whoever came in would read it.
‘hep i david no dog stuk zipper at molly’ Just as he typed in the last word someone entered the room behind him.
“Princess get of there. How did you even get in here?”
It was...
