His own mother. He sprinted towards the front door to see her talking with Helen. They were talking about him. The human David. His mother worried about her son. He didn’t come home in two days and none of his classmates has heard anything. She called the police and listed him as a missing person and asked Helen if maybe she or Jennifer saw anything.
“This can’t be happening. I need to do something! Anything!” David jumped straight towards his mom, trying to hug her with his front feet. For everyone else it looked like Princess was excited to meet someone new and leaned her body upwards against that person.
“Mom I’m here! Please you have to help me! I don’t know what to do! I don’t want to be stuck as a dog! At the park yesterday another dog had it’s way with me. Can you imagine that! Please take me with you! I want to come home!” but all she heard was excited barking from Princess.
“Calm down girl. Sorry about her. My daughter is having a part time job as a dog sitter for two weeks. She is usually a quiet dog” Helen said while pulling Princess back into the house.
“Oh its fine don’t worry about that. I think I better go now I have to check other places for him before it’s getting dark again. Still thanks a lot.” The door closed again. Cutting Princess off from any other attempt to get to this woman.
“No don’t leave me here! Mom come back!” he clawed at the door but gave up shortly after.
Being confronted with his human life again he was unable to return to, gave him depression again. Totally defeated he laid on the couch again and tried to fall asleep. Anything to make the day pass faster.
He woke up to a lot of voices talking at once. It came from the kitchen. Curious what was going on he walked towards it, finding Helen and three other middle aged women talking in a speed he wasn’t sure was humanly possible. Looks like Helen invited some of her friends over.
A loud sound came from his stomach. He was feeling hungry again.
“Guess I can’t avoid that if I don’t want to starve.” he moved towards his food bowl only to find it empty. “Great. Now I have to actually beg for my ‘tasty’ food” while tapping his bowl with his paw, trying to get Helen's attention.
“Oh girls this is Princess. We have her for around two weeks. I think I have to feed her now, let me take a look at the plan.” All the other women were looking in his direction and commented how cute and noble she looked. If he could run red with embarrassment his head would look like a tomato.
“Here it is.” is all she said while she put some semi-moist dog food into his bowl.
Meat cubes in a sauce was on the menu. It didn’t smell as bad as the dry food so David tried it without hesitation. “Could be worse” was all he thought while munching away at his meal.
After that David settled into a routine. Trying to ignore all his weird feelings or even having a dogs body while waiting for Princess original owner to come back and pick him up.
