Jennifer woke up with a jolt. Had she really fallen asleep on guard duty? She supposed being malnourished for three days would do that. She could hear a loud screeching noise, and rushed to grab her staff. Racing towards the center of the camp, it was obvious what the problem was.
Kim's tent had been ransacked, with apparently no rhyme or reason to the mayhem. Kim was nowhere to be seen, but Jennifer could see large monkey paw prints in the mud around the area. The tracks pointed deeper towards the forest, before vanishing altogether, presumably because Kim had started climbing. Jen swore under her breath.
Jamie hustled out of his tent, axe at the ready, before relaxing slightly.
"Welp. Told her that fruit was trouble." The old warrior grumbled. "No one listens to ol' Jamie though. Why do I even bother with those types?"
"We have to find her!" Jennifer was slightly panicking.
"Why? It's her own damn fault for eating that thing. 'Sides, she's prolly more beast than man at this point." Jamie started heading back to his tent.
"Well, I'm going after her." She started casting a divination spell, which pointed deeper into the forest, hopefully towards their wayward rogue.
"Not much good that'll do ya. What'll ya even do if ya find 'er?" Jamie shook his head. "It's unfortunate, but these things happen when you don't listen to common sense."
"I'll... figure something out. Despite her... recklessness, she's still saved my butt more than once. I owe it to her." Jennifer started following the spell.
"Ugh... No one listens to ol' Jamie." The adventurer looked back at the caravan mournfully, before hefting his axe again, and following the wizard. "Wait up. Somebody has to have some common sense around here."
The party ventured into the enchanted forest, hoping to rescue their monkeyfied friend from themselves.
Elsewhere, deeper in the forest. The monkey scrambled from tree limb to tree limb, enjoying its trek through the canopy. Soon though, it reached its destination, a clearing in the center of the forest. Standing in the center of it was...
