Liam, wresting control at last, answered.
“We use it of course.” He said, flipping back to the main menu Siya sat at his side, glaring at him. “As long as we are all cool with it. We won’t use it to commit acts of evil or anything, just on ourselves, and only under explicit consent. This could change our lives, for the better.”
They watched on for a moment, still reaching for the keyboard, but soon the rest of the room settled, grumbling.
“Fine,” Dan said, “but it has some pretty limiting rules. Looks like we can’t become rich and/or famous, and if we are going to transform we might be stuck in that form all weekend.”
Adam squeaked in agreement, still nestled in Siya’s arms.
“It looks like it could, but some background process is eating up the power.” Liam added, rooting through a number of submenus. “Huh. Looks like something big hit the battery a few years back, but I’m not fluent in the Unix Epoch, so finding out what is going to have to involve fucking around with event logs, which I’m not about to do. Either way, if we do something as a group it looks like we will have more options or shorter stuck period, or more interesting changes.”
“Does it help if it transforms less people?” Chell asked. After a moment of searching Liam added that it might, but he was uncertain. “That’s good because I don’t want it.”
“Chell!” Siya gasped.
“I’m serious. If you guys wanna fuck around with it that’s on you, WE are gonna stay human.”
Siya looked on, grasping at her plush. Dan and Liam shared looks too, Liam resting a hand on Siya.
“Fine. I’m not your keeper, but if you make it irreversible I’ll make it worse than telling the government; I’ll tell Mum.”
Chell got up, walking back to her room, the remaining housemates watching her little card adapt to each room change, soon displaying her concern. Siya blushed, hugging her plush, who blushed and squeaked with her.
“Okay.” Dan said, pushing the coffee table back into it's proper place. “So, what are we going to do?”
