"How about we get your leash and I'll take you for a proper walk, so we can see how those legs work?"
Jeff recognized the word walk, and eagerly started to run for the front door.
Sally walked after him, laughing at his excitement. She grabbed a purse from nearby and slung it around her side without even thinking. The leash hung by the door, and she attached it to his collar, and grasped it firmly before heading out.
Jeff excitedly tried to pull her forward, but Sally held the leash firmly, encouraging him to walk next to her. There was no sign that Sally had been a dog only a short time earlier...or Jeff had been a human. Jeff looked deliriously happy, and was acting like it...running around in front of her, panting excitedly...at one point trying to chase a squirrel.
They stopped at a park bench, and Sally ordered Jeff to sit. She sat on the bench, and pulled out a cell phone, and started scrolling through her news feed...politics, entertainment, YouTube videos....it was very engrossing...it was designed to be.
While her mind was engaged, Jeff's was not particularly, only thinking of the walk and wanting them to continue.
