an Adventurer sounds like the best option. You don't have to be tied down to anyone or anything, and you don't know much about the game anyway. It seems like the best option to experience it, and if you don't like it, you can always restart. That monster option is still tempting... but maybe later.
Your avatar appears in front of you, or really, you're looking at it? You're in a house and looking into the mirror. Staring at a reflection of yourself that is startingly accurate. Same hair colour, same height, same age. It's almost uncomfortable to look at, is there any way to change it...?
You reach forward and touch the mirror. The surface rippling like you've just pressed against water. Your image in it disappearing, and lines of individual text appearing in its place. 'Hair colour, skin colour, body type.' Seems like there's a lot of options actually, and at the bottom there's 'age'.
Curious, you tap on that word and see a scrolling dial. Currently on '16', scary, it's even got your age right. It's not letting you get any younger, but you can turn it up.
