Starting the newest VRPG

added A year ago AP O

You realize that the game probably hasn't gleaned your biometric/medical stats, it probably had some sensors in the VR goggles to get your face shape, skin tone, and hair color and made a face model that way... they have bone conduction headphones, with enough research, well, scientists are paid to be smart.

Seeing that you were 16 however, using their AI, maybe you can get a glimpse of what you might look like. Being virtual reality you put your hand up and manipulated the spinner watching your game avatar rapidly develop into an adult and breach old age, even becoming elderly. You then spun it back noticing a side panel of modifiers changing, and piecing together this game has some super in depth AI!

Scrolling back and forth you saw small tables you could expand and realized it was detailing your age and class modifiers. Strength for example became +0 after a certain age, then went negative... there were intimidation bonuses against other female attracted characters near my age and persuasion bonuses against male attracted characters. "And Sam thought character creation was lacking... pfft" you scoffed.

You noticed a small sentence indicating that reactions will change based on demonstrated attraction. "Wow" you muttered, wondering how they programmed so much social detail into the game. You left the tables open and began exploring hair styles. Your age was left at 30 while you explored opening up the option of facial hair styles which you couldn't help but explore noticing they further modified your social stats. As did the tattoo options and starting outfit.

You left stubble on, it had minimal effect modifier wise, and were surprised to see it thin as you rolled your age back to 21, even more as you rolled back to 18, then at 17 it became patchy and disappeared at 16... it was incredible for a game...

Finally you settled on being 21 reasoning that with the amount of programming geared toward character age, there's probably an aging mechanic, and though in medieval games like D&D, 16 is adulthood, you didn't want to risk exclusion due to your character being too young by contemporary standards.

Selecting to accept you were offered to enter a name, being into the roleplay aspect of these games more than the fighting, you entered an innocuous "Jeremy Davenport" before finally accepting.

A loading screen appeared, and a body clad in boxers appeared. It had its arms outstretched and looked disturbingly similar to yours, but it was obviously a generic model, it had to be... right? The model began to rotate, and words underneath it appeared. "Applying class template modifications and character age parameters."

The characters age ticked up slowly and across the bottom of the screen green floating text appeared +2 strength, +4 constitution, +1 wisdom, +3 charisma, +4 romantic appeal flashing for a few seconds before fading. Another year would roll by and the numbers and stats would cycle through again, but be different. As this was happening, the character on the screen became taller and dark brown body hair appeared everywhere. Abs formed and muscle packed onto his avatar's frame... as a generic adventure, you finally pieced together, you aren't necessarily saddled to a party and don't have a specific role to play... you sometimes need to take hits, sometimes need to deal damage and occasionally need to simply run like hell...

The loading bar finished and the screen melted away and suddenly you were in a small bedroom. You noticed a full mirror and after walking to it you saw yourself as an athletic 21 year old adventurer. The simulation was so realistic you felt your biceps and face fully expecting to feel huge slabs you can't fit your hand around as well as hair, but alas, you didn't. You did however hear your fingers scratch the stubble on your avatar's face and were again blown away by the detail.

Within a few minutes the command to access the interface was found and you searched for Sam's "Turbidluck" character finding it easily. His online time showed 45 minutes of gameplay where your's only showed 1:45 minutes. You selected his profile and saved him as a friend and as you were about to begin chatting, you saw an option to teleport to him.
