CYOTF (New)

Falling for your tank

I wasn't too sure what to do. Both options seemed really appealing, I liked how I looked before and I thought aging a few years was neat as well. This new form is kinda nice too. Bigger muscles, hairier chest, gruffer look. It matched my new experience... and it was attractive. I looked to Sam for answers.

"Hey, what do you think? Should I keep it on?"
"Maybe for another level, then turn it off?"
"You're just wanting us to match."
"Yeah, I am. Cause you're starting to look hot."

Was he flirting? We'd played countless games together in the past, but he never made a move. Maybe it's because of how my avatar looks? I would never know that day two of the game was to experiment with the intended changes. Temporarily making us more like our future selves, then reverting it all when we log off to sleep. But parts of it were slipping through the bracelet and into my mind. That craving for this barbarian reaching a breaking point as I pulled him closer and embraced in a kiss.

Our characters stood there for minutes, tongue down the others throat as we held on as tight as we could. The two of us were only in our rooms, but the experience felt so real. My mind convincing my senses that this was all happening, that my chin was being tickled by his manly beard, and my body held in his large arms. I could feel every part of the embrace, even the desire for more as we broke away. The reality of what I had done sinking in, feeling beyond awkward as I realised countless players were around and watching.

"So uh... guess we're a couple now."
"Hah, guess? Yeah, we are a couple now. Now C'mon, we got a dungeon to run!"

His cheerful and uncaring attitude helped me break out of this stupor. The two of us partying up and joining two more players. 'Liria Songstorm', a human who was our healer. As well as 'Bargis Fullclaw', a werewolf who helped me DPS. It wasn't a hard dungeon, fairly entry level as we went against some trash mobs into our first major encounter. A goblin trapmaker that would try to single out our healer with a snare into bomb. After some more fodder we moved onto a bugbear that required us to DPS check him otherwise we'd wipe. Finally, it was onto the last encounter, the orc warchief who summoned add after add. It wasn't hard to race down the new monsters so Sam could get back to tanking only the lead orc. When the dungeon ended, I had gotten another level, and loot that was far better than anything I currently had.

Outside, the dungeon was fairly empty. Looks like a lot of players might have wiped. Coach Sullivan said that if you wipe to a dungeon or a monster player, they drag you away to their prison. Scary, but I'm glad that didn't happen to my group.

The party broke up quickly. Bargis said he was feeling weird and was worried he would attack us. He ran off to the nearby monster infested woods and logged off shortly after. Liria was going to catch up with some friends and headed to the local tavern. While me and Sam had some time to ourselves, as the barbarian lifted up the bottom of my chin and grinned.

"I think you're old enough now."

I open the display once more. 25, just like your friend. The hair poking out of my shirt had expanded to a small forest. My beard now 4 inches long, but well groomed. My body stout and strong, abs having formed but a little bit of a stomach with it. Maybe this is a good stopping point, any older and I'll have a barrel like chest. I disable the toggle and look back to Sam. Giving him another kiss, until he suddenly breaks it and looks away.

"Ah damn it. Mum's saying I have to head off."
"Already?"
"It's 10."
"I need to head off too then... see you at school tomorrow?"

Sam ruffled my hair as he responded.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow."

His avatar disappeared from my sight, and I logged off as well. Setting the headset aside as I crawled into bed and rested far better than any night before. Waking up early in the morning, 7:00 again. Immediately pulling out my phone as I looked for Sam's number and sent him a text.

"Last night was fun."
"Yeah, dungeon was great."

Weird that the first thing he thinks of is the dungeon.

"Uh, what about us?"
"You fought great dude! Would have wiped without you!"
"Isn't there something else you're forgetting?"
"...You okay? It was just a normal dungeon run with my pal, wasn't it?"

Did... did he not remember? My mind thinks of all the reasons why he might have forgotten. What if someone else logged into his account? No that doesn't make sense he remembers doing the dungeon with me. What if it was all a joke? No, he wouldn't do a joke that cruel. So then... what if he actually forgot? But how could he forget?
