Angela Darmondy sat down suddenly as a wave of dizziness washed over her. The sudden rush of memories overwhelming her didn't make any sense: birthdays with her dad and older brother taking care of her younger sister, going to school...why would she be thinking of all that right now? She'd just been arguing with her older brother Elijah, who must have lied to someone to get those tickets since he was too young to get into the theater. She shook her head to clear it. Dad would be pissed if he found out what Elijah was up to.
"I'm telling dad once he gets home, and you'll be grounded!" She threatened him.
Elijah stared in shock at Angela, or 'Angie' as he now remembered her. No longer his strict mother, but his gawky 13 year old younger sister. He remembered playing with her as kids, teasing her about her first training bra, getting into a fist-fight with Jeremy when he started hinting he was interested in making out with her. Elijah stuck the chronovac in his pocket.
"It's just a movie, what's the big deal?" He asked
"You lied to get those tickets, you're too young for an R-rated film!" Angie accused.
She got up and planted her hands where her hips would be in a few years--if she grew up to look like Elijah remembered her--radiating her disapproval.
"Do you wanna come with us? Jeremy wouldn't mind."
Elijah felt a welter of emotions as he said it. On one hand, Angela was his mom, and it was kind of exciting to think he might be able to persuade her to do something naughty, but she was also his little sister, and he knew Jeremy would try hitting on her even after their fight. The thought of his best friend making out with Angie, whether as his sister, or as his mom made Elijah feel sick.
Their conversation was interrupted by a sudden knocking on the door. Both siblings turned to look.
