Mecha was the most appealing option for you, even if it was one of the two most 'conventional' forms to take as a machine. With such machines having the basic anatomy of something like a human or animal, with plenty of distinctly mechanical and even some outright weird features placed over and added on too. From many cameras throughout the form to reduce the impact of damage to the optical areas, to antenna that might line the back to improve their hacking capabilities or command of drones, to holographic projectors to make them appear to be some kind of biological- or conceal certain aspects of themselves, even thrusters and 3D Printers were included too! And those were only a few of the options in the previous game, so you're optimistic that for this title, there's going to be much more choices of gadgets and modules.
After that basic selection, you found the now shifting mass of wires, servos and pistons covered in equally shifting varieties of panels, armor and rubber coatings has been surrounded by four remaining hexagons.
Bipedal: You firstly picked this to see how it would appear, as it is the classic form for individuals. Leading to not much of a change in the avatar. Remarkably enough though, the heads here did lean towards relatively more 'humanlike' heads, from flashlight-esc heads, to visors that covered the entire face, to even ones that look quite like armored helmets from mecha anime (wait). Although relievingly enough, barely any of them had mouths that could have risked rendering this being the 'less humanlike' option failing at that.
Quadrupedal: Moving on to checking out what they had here, you found that the avatar suddenly went on all fours as its limbs shifted. The legs shortening and the arms lengthening to the same height, before they suddenly cracked into a more digitgrade stance as the armor on it thickened up. And the head here began to lengthen into a elongated... Shape, but soon it discolored and the cold panelling made way for a deep orange as a mane of metal sprouted out. So there's animalistic options now in the vein of Zoids and the like, and as you continued to watch it some more, the form shifted further into different configurations. From more contemporary ones out of Boston Dynamics, to futuristic ones vaguely similar to those seen from HZD, to even a few with a completely different aesthetic; such as dieselpunk wonders of oil and gunmetal. They're really leaning into including all sorts of sci-fi nonsense here then, at least in design.
Apedal: Selecting this caused the avatar to suddenly stand up again, but as you soon saw, its legs began to merge with eachother as its arms shifted back to a more dexterious form. Seems to be the naga-option, and as you watched it, the tail managed to shift forms. From a sleek piece of hardware, to a hovering and vaguely trainlike tail, to a bulky and wheeled mechanism to skid across the ground, there were many options there... Then you saw it shift into a finned shape, and after some quick investigation into the options, found there to genuinely be some decent aquatic designs. Perhaps you and Damon could do something here with that... Or maybe you could try a naga again, maybe a trainnaga perhaps?
Wheeled: Despite the name, this option didn't only include wheels. Instead, you found this to also feature all kinds of treads, omnidirectional balls, and hover mechanisms directly under the avatar. Although despite that, the rest of body did turn out still decently humanoid, even if bulkier by default here, even including some further weaponry on the back and arms. Seems like these kinds of machines are dedicated further towards fighting then, or labor as evident by the occasionally inhuman claws and grippers that shift in.
Compared to the previous game, the options here were much more varied! No longer are you so limited to just a basic humanoid stature, with the only difference being what kind of legs you got (if you had any). Now you can actually act as a true synthetic naga with flexibility and speed, play a mechanized quadruped that can prowl with its varying amount of mechanical paws, act as a rugged machine with mud on its treads, or see what kind of content they added on for the Bipedal form. Heck, perhaps some of these parts were interchangable even?
