Arianna paid no heed to Bachus' curse. She was about to order her guards to throw him out when he suddenly let out a hideous cackle and vanished in a blinding shimmer of golden light.
With that, the princess announced that she would be taking to bed early that evening. She enjoyed a hearty supper, a long but cleansing bath, and an hour spent watching her maids fix her bed, clean her chambers, and prepare her nightgown, all while she occasionally fired off a petty bit of criticism or a childish insult in their direction.
The servants were only too happy when their tasks were complete, and they could finally leave. Arianna, dressed in her beautiful white silk nightdress, climbed into bed. But after half an hour, she was still awake. Maybe she could order the kitchen to brew some tea. Or perhaps draw another bath...
The princess got out of bed and started walking towards the door, when she noticed that the handle seemed much higher than usual. She tried climbing up on her toes to reach it, but her long green fingers were just out of reach. Wait, why did she have green fingers?
But it wasn't just that. The princess pulled her nightgown off in horror to see a sickly pea-green color spreading across her body, slowly changing the pigment of her soft pink skin until not a trace remained. Arianna recognized exactly what that particular color reminded her of: goblins. The most wretched of all living things in Magica, treated with scorn by the citizenry and abused by her father's soldiers on a daily basis. Goblins were always blamed whenever a house caught fire, or a merchant misplaced a few coins, or a beloved family pet went missing. The front gates of the city were always adorned by at least one freshly cut goblin head every day.
But that wasn't the only change. Arianna felt her body shrinking down until she was no taller than a girl of twelve years. The sudden change in height was matched only by her bosom starting to expand in size until two huge, heavy breasts hung off her chest, causing her to briefly fall over. When she got up, she saw a pile of her luscious brunette hair piling up around her and felt the top of her scalp, finding that she was now almost completely bald. And to finish the transition, sharp fanged teeth butted out over her lips while a pair of bumpy horns grew out of her forehead.
Instead of the stunningly, flawlessly perfect Princess Arianna, there was now a short, bald-headed, big-breasted and skimpy little goblin bitch. Arianna was horrified. She pinched and slapped herself, because this surely must be some horrible nightmare. Eventually, she realized that the old wizard had done this to her. He had transformed her into the lowest, most pathetic creature she could imagine.
And then she had another realization: she needed to escape from the castle and fast. If the knights found some filthy goblin in the princess' chambers and no princess, she would be put to death on the spot.
