Amara's no good, very bad, day

added by O 11 months ago BM O

"Can I go now," Amara whined. "You already put this stupid collar on me and you made fun of my name."

"You're a Mara named Amara," Rei countered. "Its not very creative."

"I thought it was," she grumbled.

Mary Elise now furrowed her brow, pushing herself forward as she studied the mara. "Not yet I have a few more questions."

"What if I don't want to answer," Mara replied defiantly.

"Then I give you detention," Mary Elise smirked. "And after that we can put you in a cat carrier and take you to the vet. I'm pretty sure they still offer discounts on spay and neutering."

"Okay okay geez," Mara exclaimed. The teenage girl now smoothing out her outfit as she frowned at her teacher. "Yeesh are all wizards so mean."

Mary Elsie didn't give an answer, her eyes trained on the teenage girl. It made her apprehensive that demons would now be infiltrating the school. She now wondered if this was an isolated incident or if something far more dangerous was lurking in the shadows. "Tell me, what is a nightmare demon doing in this town?"

"Well I heard rumors," Amara shrugged. "The whole supernatural world did. Bunch of vampires came rolling through town last year. Know they aren't exactly subtle and probably left a bunch of traumatized victims behind. Especially if they managed to kill a demon hunter."

"Killed a demon hunter," Connor asked.

"Uh yeah," Amara exclaimed. "I heard it through the grapevine. Vampires killed the head of the Moreland family. Left this town totally unprotected. I figured it'd be the best place to catch a meal. That reminds me, does this collar prevent me from causing nightmares to anyone or just you guys?"

Connor, Spark, and the others now looked to one another before bursting it fits of laughter. Amara now cast the group an incredulous look, the demon hated feeling like she was the butt of jokes. "What's so funny?"

"Wow your information was way off," Spark laughed, wiping a tear from her eyes. "Jacob Moreland is alive and well."

"How do you know?"

"Because I'm his son," Connor grinned. Amara now paled slightly, gazing at the teenage boy and green haired girl. No way was she this unlucky. "You're bullshiting," she stammered. "You have to be!"

"Nope," Spark grinned. "Thats Connor Moreland and I'm the Morelands personal fairy and Connors girlfriend." Amara felt light-headed, she had fed on the fairy and girlfriend of a famous demon hunters family. She had always had the worst luck but this was absolutely ridiculous.

"Oh and Nat over there," Spark smirked. "The girlfriend of the wizard who put that collar on your neck. The one that took you into her house. She's a damphir."

Amara's jaw dropped. A damphir! That was almost worse than a demon hunter. Amara had heard of damphirs, the half vampire progeny that existed within vampire lore and were as rare as a unicorn and more valuable than gold. If the stories she had heard were true than this damphir, if she was a damphir, would probably be connected to the most well to do vampire families. Nervously she now turned to face Nat, gasping in shock by what she saw.

Nat, sensing Amaras apprehension, now cast the demon a sinister smile revealing a set of fangs as her eyes began to glow softly. Amara shrieked, clumsily backing against the wall as she fearfully looked at the group in front of her.

"No way this is not happening," she exclaimed. Fearfully she now looked to Miles, her hand shaking as she pointed to the teenage boy. "So what the hell are you then? A God?"

"Um I'm human," Miles replied. Amara was still wide eyed, pressing her back to the wall as she slowly inched towards the door. "No way is myluck this freaking bad," she said quickly. "Wizards, damphirs, hunters, fairies, its just a bit much. I should go." Clumsily she now reached for the door, fruitlessly pulling on the handle.

"You push to open," Mary Elise sighed. Amara was still frazzled as she now flung the door open, her escape now possible yet still nervous at the prospect of what could happen to her. Taking a deep breath she now quickly darted out the room before sprinting down the hall, Nat sticking her head out to call after her.

"I'll see you tonight Amara," she smiled. "You better be home or I'm gonna come looking for you!"

"Was that really necessary," Mary Elise groaned.

"Sorry Ms. McKinnon," Nat blushed. "But after the week of nightmares she gave me. I think I deserve a little payback."
