"Great practice today Rick!"
"Thanks coach," Rick smiled, his eyes trained on the former Soul Drive Buck, now a very human Coach Buck. Coach Buck grinned, running a hand through his thinning hair as he approached Rick. "Gonna need that type of energy on the field this Friday," he said. "You know I look to you Seniors to set the pace for the rest of the team." Rick nodded in agreement, overjoyed yet still in shock over what had transpired.
Over the course of the day, Rick had discovered he could turn Soul Drives into humans. He wasn't exactly sure how at first, until he felt a warm sensation on his finger.
The ring. Rick couldn't explain it but somehow it had given him the power to change things for the better. It started simply enough, turning the extroverted Soul Drive Hopper into a boring and monotonous Chemistry teacher named Mrs. Hopper. Chemistry immediately became dull, the teacher droning on about compounds and the periodic table, allowing Rick and the other jocks plenty of time to goof off.
Hopper wasn't the only change though, Rick transforming some of the student Soul Drives into humans. In each and every case he had reverted them into the cliches of high school. One a theater geek, who's cheerleader girlfriend dumped him. Another a math need who was immediately bullied by the lumbering football player into doing his homework for him. Slowly but surely Rick felt he was setting things right with the world.
Rick decided to save the best for last, transforming Buck into Coach Buck. Rick had been overjoyed watching the transformation. Bucks head going from deer to heavy set human, his body losing the plastic sheen and becoming heavy set flesh of a man. Coach Buck believed in rewarding the Seniors, not in the analytics of the sport. Yes he liked Jeffs backup, even suspected that the kid might be better that Rick but, you didn't bench a Senior in his last year. Ricks backup would have his chance next year, this was Ricks year to shine.
It amazed Rick how his memories had altered to match his changes. Instead of the bitterness he had felt previously, he now remembered being one of the Kings of the School. If any of the Soul Drive staff tried to point out that Rick was slacking off, the human staff would put them in line. Explaining how things worked and that they should not punish the football team. "These boys have enough to worry about without you filling their heads with nonsense" was a phrase Rick was hearing on a regular basis.
It amazed Rick that with each Soul Drive transformed, humans were becoming less tolerant of them. It was almost like his own feelings towards Soul Drives was infecting peoples opinions. Bu the time he finished practice, he had heard more than one player, as well as the coaches, refer to Soul Drives as Artys.
Undressing, Rick now entered the showers, sighing in contentment as the warm water washed over him. It had been a great day. He was starting again, their were less Soul Drives, and everything felt right.
"Nicely done young man."
Rick jumped, startled by the voice as he quickly covered himself. Standing just outside the showers was a middle aged woman with dark hair. "What the hell lady," he yelled. "This is a guys locker room!"
"I'm well aware of that," Morgan replied, a smirk crossing her face as she studied Ricks young, nude body. "Its been sometime since I've seen a young man . Nearly forgot how attractive the young athletic types could be. Almost makes me pine for the days of my youth."
Rick blushed, covering himself as he turned off the shower. Whoever this lady was she was making him feel rather uncomfortable. "Can you stop staring at my junk lady," he yelled. "Now what are you doing in here and who are you?"
"Of course where are my manners," Morgan stated. "My name is Morgan. Morgan Carlson but you may refer to me as Morgan Lefay."
"Okay never heard of you."
"Of course you haven't," Morgan smirked. "To busy in pursuit of athletic glory to crack a book. It amazes me how often athletes fit into the mold of all brawn and no brains."
"Are you calling me stupid," Rick asked, his face contorting in anger.
"On contrary my dear Rick," Morgan stated. "I think you are far from stupid. That is how you were able to use my ring."
Rick paused, gazing at the ring he had found. While at first unsure about wearing it, he found himself sporting it on his finger after transforming several of the Soul Drives. "Wait this is yours?"
"Yes Rick," Morgan replied with a smirk. "And I see what you've been useing it for. I'm impressed actually but you have just barely scratched the surface of your potential."
"My potential," Rick asked, confused by Morgans statement. "What are you talking about Lady. What is this all about anyway?"
"Magic," Morgan stated. "And shaping the world." Morgan now threw Rick a towel, admiring the teens well built body with a sly grin.
"Get dressed Rick," she smiled. "We have much to discuss and much to learn. I have a feeling you going to like what I have to teach you."
