When Ethan and his cousin Steven strolled past the new magic shop in the small strip mall, they became curious and decided to walk in and browse just to see what they had on sale. Steven had a birthday coming up soon, and he had some extra cash to spend on a present for himself.
Ethan was a bit more nerdy, loving video games and computer programming, where Steven was more into sports, going to the gym every day and playing soccer at least twice a week. Both boys were already 19 years old, and they had gotten jobs working at a party supply warehouse down the street from their houses.
“Yo, Ethan! Check this out!” Steven said, pointing at a new item in the glass display case. “They have this belt called a ‘Muscle Belt’. Bro! You can finally add some muscle to your skinny chicken legs, dude!”
Ethan walked up and examined the item.
“Dude! That’s so fake. I’m not paying 29.99 for a stupid black leather belt! I already got one!”
Just then, the salesclerk came up to them. He was a young guy named Sean.
“Can I help you guys?”
“We’re interested in this Muscle Belt! Does it really work?” Steven asked the clerk. “And what if I already go to the gym? Can I return it if I don’t like it?”
“Yes, you’ll get a full refund if you return it with a copy of the receipt! I guarantee that you guys will love it. All you do, is turn the small know on the face of the belt, and your muscles will expand all over your body! Everyone will think you spent years working out in the gym!”
“Dude, that’s sixty bucks for two belts…” Ethan sighed.
Steven groaned as he rolled his eyes.
“Tell you what. I’ll give you two belts for the price of one if you get both today!” Sean added.
“DEAL!” Steven smiled, as he pulled out his debit card.
They walked up to the counter and Steven paid for the two belts with his card. Sean gave him a receipt and the boys walked out, with two Muscle Belts neatly rolled up in a plastic bag. Then, the boys went to a burger place next door, where they took turns putting on the belts in the men’s restroom.
