On their way to see Ms. McKinnon, Connor gave Miranda his jacket which covered up her magical girl outfit. She walked closely alongside Amara and Amara felt a little uncomfortable as she didn't really know what to say to Miranda as she hadn't talked much with her over the last couple of weeks.
"You know I did mean what I said agreeing with Spark back there, I think you look great in that outfit." Amara complimented as gave a little blush and a smile.
"Thanks, I've never really been comfortable with people....staring at me...for my looks." Miranda replied.
"Come on, even if you're not wearing that magical girl outfit, I still think you look phenomenal in any of your outfits that I've seen you in." Amara said as she walked little closer and put a hand on Miranda's shoulder.
"My mamá, she's always encouraging me to try and be more confident. 'Mija, you need to love yourself', 'Mija, love what you look like'. I know what she means, I just...have trouble seeing it sometimes." Miranda explained.
"Well....how about this? You and I hang out together when we get the haunted house open? I'll show you how to love yourself." Amara said.
"So...kind of like...a Halloween date?" Miranda asked blushing a little bit.
"Sure, if you want to call it that." Amara said.
"Yeah, sounds fun." Miranda said perking up a little bit as her heart began skipping a few beats.
Miranda then went up to Miles and smiled at him.
"What are you so happy about?"
"I...may have gotten a Halloween date with Amara?"
"Que? Oh, en serio?!" Miles exclaimed to her.
"Qué pasa? Celoso?" Miranda asked him in a smirk as the two of them then began to argue with each other in Spanish. The two of them were so caught up with arguing against each other that they didn't even notice when they had reached Ms. McKinnon.
"Uh...were you two having a private conversation?" Ms. McKinnon asked.
"It's not relevant to this situation." Miranda replied.
"And that would be....?"
"Uh....I found a card at the local magic shop and became a....magical girl as Rei called it." Miranda explained.
"Well..." Ms. McKinnon took a closer look at Miranda's outfit and rapier. "I'm afraid I don't know too much about anime. My friend Naomi would be the one to ask, but I'm sure she'd just be jealous over the fact that you've become a magical girl." Ms. McKinnon said.
"So you can't help?" Miranda asked looking distraught.
"Well...maybe just say 'power down' or something like that as you cross your arms in front of you?" Ms. McKinnon suggested.
"Okay...uh....power down." Miranda said as her clothes switched back to normal, but now she had a bracelet on her wrist that had a sun on it.
"That was literally all I had to do?! Well, what about this?" Miranda asked showing the bracelet.
"Well, what can I say 'sometimes the magic chooses the person' not the other way around. Now I hope you all did at least find some good decorations for the haunted house. Hopefully it will be a thrilling time." Ms. McKinnon said as they all began to leave the classroom.
