“FINE! I wish your job actually paid you well. Hell, I wish your job paid you MILLIONS!!!” Jesse shouted angrily, throwing the coin right back at Mark.
He was only just able to catch it.
“SEE! Nothing! Wishes don’t come true,” she finished, staring her husband in the eyes.
“I-I just… we don’t have nearly enough money for you to risk it all on this ‘magic coin’ gimmick,” Jesse said, lowering herself back into her seat in the couch, “I mean, was getting groceries that difficult?” She asked, an ounce of anger still in her voice,
“Seriously Jesse,” Mark started, “when I tell you this woman was convincing, I mean she was really convincing!” He said, lowering himself to her level. Her anger was only building more and more, “I’ll get the groceries when I get paid,”
“AND WHEN THE HELL WILL THAT BE!?” Jesse finally broke, “I work and I work and I work and I get nothing in return, all for you to spend the last twenty dollars on some STUPID joke gag gift!?” She shouted, “I just can’t believe you right now!”
She stomped over to Mark and snatched the coin out of his hand, he stepped backwards and out of her way. She made her way over to the trash can, “if this is all you can manage, then I wish you’d just grow up already!” She finished, throwing the coin in the trash.
She stared Mark in the eyes as she made her way out of the room, into their bedroom. As she closed the door, Mark’s voice was immediately heard,
“Uhm… Jesse,” Mark said,
“WHAT!?”
“I-I think I’ve got some good news… and some bad news…”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” She grumpily asked, opening the door expecting to see her husbands face. What she saw instead was a man who looked like her husband, but with a full head of grey hair, more wrinkles on his face than she had over her whole body, and he was only getting older,
“Oh my god… what the hell—” then it clicked, “IT’S REAL!!!”
